Chapter 93: First Lesson, Never Underestimate Your Enemy

  "Are you okay?"

  What came next took even me by surprise. Despite I'd been carefully observing with my Eye of Insight, I hadn't noticed anything wrong until now.

  Xueyi burst into laughter. She said, "First lesson, never underestimate your enemy!"

  Once, the gloomy aura that was hanging around her body when she fell, quickly changed. Black mists gathered around her and Jaded who was bending by her side.

  Xueyi's Innate Poison!

  "Ahh!" everyone gasped.

  It was surprising that Teacher Haggz remained emotionless still, as if watching a scene he'd seen too many times, he'd gotten bored of.

  Jaded's face immediately paled. He gasped for air, and his face began to turn whiter and whiter. He quickly shouted, "I surrender!"

  Immediately he said this, the black mist that covered the duo was retracted to reveal Jaded in Xueyi's arms. She quickly brought out a bottle with red liquid inside, then fed it to him. He drank it quickly. And gradually began to regain colour.

  After emptying the content of the bottle, he had regain half his true essence that had been sucked by that gaseous diffusion.

  He stood up and pulled the spear out of her arm. Then, Lingxi ran over and supported him.

  "Don't worry," said Lingxi, "it's only a superficial wound. Xueyi, please circulate your true essence."

  Xueyi nodded and weakly shut her eyes. Her true essence began to flow, and Lingxi began to heal her with her Gift. Everyone was concerned. Who would want to have a hole through the arm? Still, Teacher Haggz pretended oblivion and announced, "Xueyi wins the first round!"

  Everyone present were baffled. Even Jaded was feeling angry. Hadn't Teacher Haggz said that one was to stop when the other person was incapable of defence? Clearly, everyone could see that Xueyi was pierced. Was Jaded supposed to continue fighting her till she lost her life?

  I got angry and didn't know when I shouted, "Teacher, but that's not fair! She obviously cheated!"

  A cold wind began to howl around Teacher Haggz. Dust flew into the air, as he turned around to face me. Just with a stamp of his foot, a gravitational force pulled Roy to the ground, with Jessica and I jumping down in succession, to avoid the crash. Just before Roy crashed the ground, I quickly stowed him away into my storage ring. I was dumbstruck. Was this Teacher Haggz being angry?

  "Not fair? Do you say that at a battlefield?" he asked. His eyes were shining forth with a sort of blue that gave one the feeling of staring over a raging blue sea.

  Without letting me to speak, he continued, "He had already done his path as a comrade. However, he hadn't waited for his opponent to surrender. In a match, it's not over until it's over. Had he stood over her and asked her to surrender, that'd have been different. In fact, I saw Xueyi's next move coming the moment he rushed over. How can the proud descendant of the Innate Poison Clan give up easily?"

  After muttering his last words, Xueyi shot a look at Teacher Haggz. Her brows were apart and her expression was nothing short of surprise.

  "You can tell that my Innate Poison bloodline originates with that clan?"

  Teacher Haggz faced her and nodded.

  "You might still be young, but when you incapacitated Jaded, just now, I felt the denseness in your cultivation. You've already attempted the Poison Body, am I right?"

  Xueyi was shocked. She nodded slowly and said, "Just before I entered the academy. My body can resist 1- and 2-star poisons. I've been unable to break further."

  Teacher Haggz nodded. He turned his head from her, then, on second thought, added, "You have lots to learn." He then looked at Jaded with a sudden glare that should have made the latter wonder if Teacher Haggz was Xueyi's clansman.

  "The sparring continues," he said. "Next person is..."

  "Mingming!"

  Immediately we heard this, we immediately looked at Zhaohu. It was a sort of instinctive thing. After all, when Jaded was called, Xueyi ended up being his partner. How were we sure this wouldn't be happening here too.

  Zhaohu was staring at Mingming when he felt several eyes on him. He screamed out, "Hey, I'm Zhaohu, that's Mingming over there!"
