i woke up when billie stirred underneath me and let out a soft sigh. she didn't make an attempt to escape from my hold, although she did clear her throat and squint.

"fuck," she rasped. "what time is it?"

i looked over at the analog clock that sat on my nightstand. "10:37."

"fuck," she said again, a little more urgently and awake this time. "i gotta get ready for class."

"you don't gotta be there on the dot," i said. "take your time."

she groaned and ran a hand through her hair. as she took a few moments to wake up and gather herself, i admired the rich red color of the hickies on her neck. her skin was pale, almost porcelain-like, so it was a huge contrast. i know that as soon as she saw them she'd blow, but she'd be an idiot if she couldn't realize why i left them on her.

"i gotta shower and shit, dude," she replied.

"stay just for a little bit longer, i really don't want you to leave yet," i admitted in a mumble against her chest. she sighed again.

"fine. whatever."

i smiled at my triumph, settling into her. she did the same, putting her arms back around me. we only had ten slits in our dorms that let sunlight in, to substitute for windows, so the room only had a little bit of light in it. i could see billie perfectly fine though, and she looked pretty in the dreamy light. her eyes were closed now, and she looked to be giving in to sleep.

"you wanna just sleep through first?"

"i really don't wanna miss another class," she mumbled, her eyes still closed.

"want me to wake you up in a little?"

"i guess," she replied. "in like twenty minutes. i am still tired," she tried to convince herself.

"right, so go back to sleep. not like your grades even matter, you sixteen, you're old enough to drop out, so i wouldn't sweat. it's not like we can get real jobs anyway," i chuckled. "we're criminals."

"true," she rasped. "alright then, sleeping through first it is. but as soon as first is over, wake me up so i can take my shower."

"alright."
