jahseh tossed spray cans to some of the members, while other members pulled weapons from the pile on the floor.

today was the day we planned to kick shit off.

jahseh's plan was to lure out some members of ps by tagging their base and wrecking their rec room. for clarity, there were two rec rooms, and one just so happened to be dominated by one gang, and one, by the other.

while the bases were being tagged, we—umiko and i—were going to lock down our sector, and the other two sectors under our protection.

because we were going to unleash quinnley while she slept.

we had gotten ahold of some melatonin from the nurses and got quinnley to take some. she was currently sleeping, and if everything went according to plan, she was set to wake up sometime after a half hour or so.

meaning that we had less than half an hour to tag the bases and lock the sectors down, because once quinnley was awake, and we let her out of her dorm, there was gonna be no stopping her.

of course, we planned to lock ourselves down too. unfortunately, when in killer mode, quinnley couldn't differentiate friend from foe, and we didn't want to be included in her casualty report.

"y'all ready?" jahseh asked.

"hell yeah, let's do this shit," tassie tossed the paint can in the air a couple times. his tone was eager and he wore a smirk on his face.

"been wanting to let some anger out," punk, another member of mo, said, eyeing the crowbar in his hand.

jahseh fixed his gaze to me, his eyes darting to umiko and back to me again. "y'all be safe and hurry. we don't got much time."

"shouldn't take us but a second," umiko said confidently. "and if a bitch tries to run up," umiko pulled her nine millimeter from her waistband and pointed it straight at jahseh's head, raising her eyebrows. "this'll be the last thing theyl'll see."

jahseh held an amused expression. "that's a good attitude to have." he eyed me for another second, then turned to the destruction committee. "y'all go ahead and head over there. i'll let y'all know when to start." he tapped the walkie talkie tucked into his waistband. the boys took off in the direction of ps's territory, and i suddenly got the overwhelming urge to say a prayer for their safety.

in two steps, jahseh was nose to nose with me, his fingers in my hair, pulling me to his chest.

we stayed there for a moment, silent and breathing, before umiko cleared her throat.

"we got three sectors to lock down," she reminded us.

jahseh pulled away slightly and looked me in the eyes. "you be safe and you be fast, you heard? we'll be back soon."

"don't get caught up down there," i told him.

"you know i'll always be good." he grinned, then pulled me in for a quick kiss. he then untangled his fingers from my hair and nodded his head in the direction we were to be headed. "now go. i love you."

"i love you too," i said. as umiko and i jogged off, i found that my cheeks were hurting, and that was because i was smiling so god damn hard.

i still wasn't used to jahseh telling me that he loved me, but i sure as fuck wasn't complaining. love was an unfamiliar feeling, as i hadn't been able to love anyone since my brother—and after his passing, it was pretty much impossible—so i didn't have a whole lot of experiences to compare my feelings for jahseh to.
