"we can just play inside. it's too hot to be doing all that shit outside," i said.

ashley and i had been trying to decide where we were going to be playing basketball, but i told him a million times that i wasn't in the mood to have a heatstroke by playing ball outside. the sun was blazing today and i wasn't about to take a chance and catch skin cancer fucking around with these niggas.

at that moment, we were on our way to the cafeteria to get something to eat before we played. i had hopped out of bed so fast this morning that i didn't even get a chance to get something to eat.

as usual, it was packed in the cafeteria, and i could quickly spot my group of people. billie's bright blue hair was hard to miss, and so was aiko's large afro.

as i approached the table, i admired billie's side profile, although i could tell that she was irritated. her lips were turned up and her eyebrows were furrowed. she was picking at her nails while my friends were around her laughing and talking.

she hadn't noticed me coming, so i decided to fuck with her. i slid my hand into her hair, but only a second passed before she was on her feet, throwing a punch.

i caught her wrist with my other hand and tilted my head, watching as her body relaxed with recognition.

"fuck, jahseh, you scared me," she sighed. "i didn't know it was you."

"what's wrong with you, bunny?" i asked, softly tugging at her roots. a quiet moan escaped her throat before her lips turned into a snarl, wrapping her little hand around my arm and gently pushing it away. i was surprised, but then again, i wasn't. billie seemed like the type to like hair pulling. i stashed that fact in my memory for later.

she sat back down in her seat and i did the same in the seat beside her. ashley sat as well, making himself comfortable and quickly including himself in my friends' conversation.

"you seemed to have a pretty good swing going," i said in reference to the nasty punch she threw my way.

the small girl chuckled, looking back down at her hands. "i didn't even realize that you had gotten that close to me. i need sharper senses. the hair pulling caught me off guard. that's how people get their throat slit, you know? one yank of the hair and the throat is exposed." she shivered and shook her head. "i need to do better. what if that was the enemy?"

"that's precisely why i'm gonna be helping you today," i replied. i knew that i had other obligations like playing basketball with my friends, but seeing her like this reminded me that i owed her a training session.

"sure. i wasn't doing shit anyway," she mumbled.

"ash, i'mma go with billie for a bit. y'all be easy," i said as i got up.

"aight bro, y'all have fun." ashley's tone was suggestive, so i rolled my eyes and ignored him like usual.

when we made it to to my room, billie kicked off her shoes, awaiting my next move. i closed the door behind me, letting my eyes wash over her body as i decided what i was going to do.
