Happy Late New Year, Dear Readers.

° ° °

I was making my way to a nearby gel shop to buy some for my hair. I ran out of it yesterday morning and thought of buying some after college.

I ended up too exhausted to even go out and buy them.

The store wasn't necessarily big but the prices they sold them were fair. Any other store would have sold them twice as much.

I stepped inside the shop, waving at the cashier at the front whom I was very well acquainted. Is a regular

"Wassup Kai, are you here for the usual?"

"You know it, Karl."

Kai nodded as he leaned on the counter.

Karl grimaced and looked to the side. Feeling somewhat regretful. He breathed in with gritted teeth before looking back at me.

"Yeah, unlucky for you, someone already took the last hair gel."

Silence.

"What?!"

I exclaimed as I slammed my hands on the counter. Irritated to hear that the hair gel I always used was out of sale.

"I told you to keep one extra for me!"

I complained while hiding my face underneath my hand palms.

"Sorry, Kai! But I had a good deal with that girl. She was willing to pay three times as much as the original price."

Karl explained while holding his hands up in the air. Feeling the regret hitting him.

Must a girl buy the same gel that Kai uses? Doesn't the women's section have it's own?

Sigh

It's not like it's forbidden anyway.

If they're out of it, then I guess I could skip college until I get my gel. It's not like my day has to go way worse than this.

"It's fine, I'll buy one elsewhere."

I bid farewell to Karl and went towards the door.

I ruffled my hair as I went through the exit from the gel store.

Not long after taking a small walk around the area, I recognized a familiar H/c-haired girl standing in a far distance, having a conversation with a guy whom I hadn't recognized.

It left me curious.

For a moment, I thought reaching up to her was a good idea until I remembered her telling me that she disliked being seen in public and spoken to. Especially in her free time.

So, for the best, I should remain hidden.

Why do I care so much?

"How many times to have to remind you of the concept of NO, Chris? If you want to stay friendly with me, you better stop asking me out."

My gaze was set on her as she spoke to his friend Chris who just confessed his feelings to her.

It seems that this wasn't the first time either.

"Why, why always me? Why can't you just give me a chance!"

"I told you, I wasn't ready-"

"I know, It's that guy you met at the club. Am I right? What was his name again. . .Kai?"

His voice and the way he spoke my name out loud disgusted me. It made my blood rush.

The tingling in my fingers began to show a small glint of flame.

Why was I so angry?

Why do I want to. . .

*Slap*

The satisfaction hit me as I saw her hand intertwining with his cheeks in a fast motion, leaving a loud clap sound.

The girl I had met, actually meant every word of what she said.

Trigger her and she'll attack.

Wait a minute. . .did she get angry? For me?

"How dare you speak his name out like that."

She spat, looking down at Chris who was kneeling before her in pain.

She closed her eyes and sighed in frustration.

"You know what, yeah, I might like him. There has been always something special about him. Though I cannot pinpoint what the reason might be. Look, today was supposed to be my day off and I wanted to spend my day in peace, buying a present for someone."

"Oh, so that hair gel was meant for him all along, right? Heh, and here I thought you said you'd bought it for your father. But isn't he already 12 feet underground?"

Chris stormed away with his hands tightened into a fist. Smirking as took one glance behind him.

She stood there as if she was the one who got rejected. Her eyes began to swallow tears. It hurts me to see her that way.

I hate it.

She's way better off with me.

I pulled out my phone and pressed on my contact list to find her.

I immediately pressed the call button as I saw her number.

Bzzzz

Bzzzz

From afar, I could see her panic as her phone began to ring.

She wiped away her tears and looked at her screen. With big eyes, she picked up the call without hesitation.

"Hello?"

"Hey, you free right now?"

"Yeah, I am."

"Great, how about we go out tonight? I promise you, I'll let you enjoy it!"

The girl chuckled from across the phone and nodded her head before agreeing to the date.
