I was casually walking down the sidewalk. Well, I had a destination. Then again, I had no clue as to why I wanted to invite her. I just had a feeling that she'd need some company. Just a belly feeling though.

As I was about to cross the street, I saw the h/c haired girl being thrown out of her house with bruises. She grabbed her undamaged phone and casually stood up looking behind her.

She mumbled something between her breath and kicked the stone hard ground. She made her way somewhere. Who knows where? She's Y/n. Just anywhere could be fine. As long there's someone beside her.

Why do I make it sound so wrong though? 'Just anywhere and anyone will do'. That's not right. It has to be a specific person and only then does she choose a place perfectly suited for both of them. Not going to lie, that's kinda cool of her.

Well, I can throw that dump invitation and go to the donut store myself. She's now occupied with finding a place on her own now.

I turned around to spot her legs hobbling. I furrowed my eyes and turned to her house.

"I thought she meant that as a joke. Hm. Not everyone is convincing, I guess."

I set down my foot in the wrong direction. The one that didn't lead me to the donut store. Instead, I was following behind Y/n's back. My body was curious about where she was heading. But my stomach ordered me to go to that donut store.

"C'mon. Food can wait. I have enough time in my life." I whispered to myself.

"Don't be ridiculous, Chris. Karl will never know and won't find out either. He's too focused on his studies anyway."

"I'll tell Karl to get some break from his studies." A voice that sounded like Chris said across the phone.

I hid behind a tree and leaned on it. Carefully listening to their conversation before taking a glance at her.

"Look, I like the offer. But I understand what Karl is trying to do. He knows that I'm a complete loser at studies. So, he's getting his grades up to support both me and him in the future."

"How can you be so sure that he'll be by your side forever? Every man's feelings changes. Besides, you two need some together time once in a while. Everyone had been wondering what happened to the two of you."

Y/n sighed in frustration and sniffed. I was able to tell that she felt miserable. Her tired eyes which seem dry from the lack of sleep suddenly started to swallow tears around them. She was sobbing and had her head lowered down to her knees.

"I fought with both my parents and Karl." She finally said.

"What? Why? What happened baby girl?"

"I told them about my thoughts about breaking up with Karl. They didn't take it nice and..."

"You don't need to tell me the rest, darling. I knew what happened next. It's always the same. But hear me out. I'm soon 18 and can move out soon. Hang in there and I will take you with me. Maybe we can even take Cole with us."

Y/n who was hiding her face with her legs, suddenly put them down and panics.

"Are you insane?! There is no way in hell we're having him at the apartment. Got to hell!"

"Oh, don't be like that. I know how you've been looking at him for the last couple of weeks. Man. You hoe almost cheated on Karl."

"Shuddup! You may consider me as a hoe in your point of view. But never say that word in front of my face or across the phone."

The two friends chat for a while and just as I was making my way back to the donut shop with a blush. I saw my phone glow under my pocket.

It was a message from Y/n.

"Ayo big bear. Care to hang out today?"

"Sure. I would never say no to a cutie like you ;)"

"Go die."
