"Ah, crap. I messed up again!" I exclaimed as I threw away the last paper I had left on my counter.
"Goddammit..." I whined while leaning on my office chair.
That was the presentation paper I and Y/n had come up with but I was the designer. She knew I was bad at it and I knew she was bad at making things up. All she said was 'Let's switch things up!' and now, look what she had done to me. Completely irritated from all the planning and wasting my last paper on something that's coming up soon.
I quickly stood up from my chair and prepared myself for a meet-up with the team in a restaurant. Call me greedy (or not) but I chose the most luxurious restaurant in the whole of Ninjago city. It didn't take long for me to reach the restaurant but there was someone who I hadn't expected to meet in a place like this. Y/n, who looked plain and lonely at school, suddenly showed up in a nice f/c mermaid dress and wearing high-class make-up and jewelry.
She had that 'shy' posture which made her look incredibly cute for some reason. But for whom was she dressed up?
I shouldn't have questioned myself that.
Chris, my old 'friend' from junior high showed up with a banquet on his hands. He smirked at her like he was trying to play her.
Y/n however, wasn't affected by his charm. It made Chris grumble and walked toward her like an elephant. He was upset that she wasn't able to show any different reaction.
"Hey, Jay!" Someone shouted behind me.
I turned around to spot my four friends who I haven't seen in a long time. We didn't go to the same College but we kept in contact just in case.
"Guys! It's been so long!"
"LIGHTNING EYYYY!" The black-haired shouted.
"COLEEEE" I shouted back.
The big guy hugged me tightly and spun me like a Disney princess. Oh and Jesus, people were staring daggers.
We all headed inside and asked about our reservation and oh dear. Someone might have put a curse under me. Because our table was right next to Y/n's. It's not that I didn't like her. It was completely the opposite. I liked her since the first day of College and it upset me that she didn't speak to me at all.
While sitting at the table, the guys spoke about their time in their first year of college while I secretly listened at Y/n's table. And man, I wanna punch that fake ass in the face.
"Chris, I don't want your money. At least get that. I have the right to choose with whom I'm going out."
"Fine," Chris said as he slammed his fist on the table.
"Suit yourself. Dork. I'll make your year a living hell. Just you wait." He continued as he walked away from their date.
Y/n sat there for a few minutes before she made her way back home herself. She left the banquet he gave her on the table.
I looked down at my finished plate and then switched to my phone. I close my eyes and took a deep breath.
'Hey, are you free this Sunday? We can hang out in my apartment and watch horror movies! I'll buy chips and sweets! Does that sound cool to you? Or- wait sorry...haha...'
That would be cool. Can't wait for tomorrow, Jay...
I raised my fist onto the ceiling. Whispering out a wild 'yes' while the other four stared at me in confusion.
"Sorry."
"You're still weird as fuck."
