"Ayooooo, Big Bear!"

I exclaimed as he entered the store.

"Hey babe~"

"Oh, fuck off."

Cole laughed at my sudden change of attitude and sat beside me. I just had to invite him to his favorite store. Because, why not? The donut store is the best place you could go with Cole. His so-said 'Temple' needed more food.

Cole started fidgeting his fingers nervously and ordered all sorts of flavors. It surprised me. Because usually, he takes his favorites. Not today I guess.

"Hey buddy, why are you taking different flavors today? Is something the matter?"

"Nah, I'm fine. I just went here earlier not too long ago."

"What?! And you didn't invite me? Broo you fake as fuck."

I said as I slammed my hand on the wooden table.

"Chillax, I didn't eat much."

"Lies."

"Sorry."

Our conversation continued until a knocking through the glass window interrupted us. And oh crap. I caught Karl glaring at Cole and me.

"Shit."

He went inside the store and straight up to my table. He slammed a hand on the table and faced me.

"What's this all about?"

"Karl, me, and Cole are best buds. If you got a problem with that, find someone else who can set their attention fully on you. I can't always be there for you. I have friends to hang out with unlike you who locks himself up in his room and studies. Besides, you never ask me if I have time to go on a date. Yet here you are with Joel waiting outside. And you're asking me 'What's this all about?'."

Karl furrowed his eyes and glared at Cole one last time before storming outside the store with his angered temper. He took Joel's wrist and walked back in the direction they came from.

Joel waved goodbye at me with a confused smile before they eventually were far enough to ask each other what had happened.

"Wow. Drama King, I guess."

Cole commented with a sarcastic chuckle.

His voice somehow sounded relieved when Karl left. I would understand how it must have felt when two pairs have an argument and you're right in the middle of it.

I took a good look outside the window and thought about Chris. The words he said a few moments back just caught me in thought.

If we're going to be roommates, doesn't that mean I'm running away from home because I'm scared of my parents? And if we are, where and when?

Maybe I took his words too seriously. There is no way he's offering me to come along with him.

"Y/n. . ."

I opened my eyes and blinked a few times before looking at Cole. I hadn't realized it yet but tears started falling down my cheeks. I wiped them away and smiled.

"Thanks, Cole. I needed to wake up from my daydream anyway. It's making me a bit dramatic and it doesn't suit my character at all."

Cole faintly smiled at me before looking into the distance.
