Having a movie night with Jay and also a sleepover at that? How was I supposed to decline his offer?

True, we had school the next day but I prepared everything for it. The stuff I carried on the way was heavy but it worked out in the end.

Jay happily waited for me outside his apartment. He helped me carry my stuff inside his room which I was grateful for. Seriously, why hadn't I approached him earlier? He's such a sweetheart.

Either way, he had the movie already chosen for the night. Which was a horror movie. He knew I couldn't handle them very well. And he's trying to tease me for it. Curse you. You Idiotic Mumbler.

"I'm glad you came, Y/n."

"Well, I wasn't in the brightest mood yesterday so I thought maybe if I hang out with you, It'll make me feel better." I explained.

"O-oh. Is that so? What happened anyway?" Jay stuttered nervously as he started the movie.

"I'll tell you later after the movie. Right now, we have a movie to finish."

"Right."

The movie was too brutal for me to watch. As for Jay, he had a hard time keeping his face straight. Whenever a jump scare appeared on the screen, I would simply hide my face on his shoulder. I didn't do it on purpose. I couldn't help but giggle at his reaction. Making him think I did it to embarrass him.

The movie ended with the witnesses escaping the house of an elderly woman. (Yes, I'm referring to the granny game)

I sighed in relief as they barely made it out. As for Jay, he wasn't focusing on the movie at all. He practically dreamt halfway through the movie.

"Jay! Were you even watching at all?"

"Uh, huh? What? Oh...it finished. Oops. Wait- did you call me by my actual name?"

"Oh...I did. I guess."

Jay smiled brightly and hugged me tightly. Repeating the same sentence over and over again.

Why was this so important to him? It's just his name. Well, I guess I would've been happy too if I heard a guy calling me by my birth name instead of a random nickname. I may understand his sudden burst of happiness. But I wouldn't say I'd be this happy.
