I was escorted outside of the meeting room, and Murphy was waiting just outside. “Woah, woah, woah. What’s going here?” Murphy asked puzzled.

“Ms. Kane is being escorted to her cabin by order of the chancellor,” The African-American guard explained.

Murphy looked to me for answers, and I explained irritated, “Chancellor Griffin is an idiot, and is willing to let all of us die for Finn.”

Robotically, the guard said, “Don’t speak negative things about the chancellor, or you shall be tried for treason.”

I smirked, “It doesn’t really matter if we’re all dead by sunrise, does it?” The guard opened the door to the cabin, and escorted me in followed by Murphy.

Murphy sat down on the grey couch, and chuckled, “I’m glad to see your medicine is working,” I paced around the living room stressfully, “You need to sit down and relax; let me give you a back rub.”

I huffed, threw my jacket on the couch, and sat in front of Murphy on the couch. His fingers worked at the knots in my neck, and I began to rant, “I don’t see why it is difficult to hand over somebody who killed eighteen people for fucking reason. I only killed three people and everyone was ready to slit my throat, but he kills eighteen and is treated like a misunderstood hero.”

“That’s just how unfair this society is,” Murphy sighed, “I wish we could go somewhere that’s not like this.”

I remarked, “Or just have my dad be Chancellor again.”

“That also could work,” Murphy smirked, “but Abby is almost as stubborn as the two of you.”

            I laughed, “Kane’s aren’t that stubborn, dear.”

“Yes you are,” Murphy laughed, and kissed my neck, “But I love that about you.”

I took off my facemask, and turned to Murphy. “I promise I won’t cough in your mouth,” I giggled.

Murphy raised his eyebrow, and smirked, “That’s a risk I’m willing to take.”

I cupped the sides of Murphy’s face, and then placed my lips onto his. Murphy lay back onto the couch, and ran his hands up and down my back. Then, I felt the urge to cough, so I pulled my lips away from Murphy’s and violently began to cough into the rag in my pocket.

Murphy sat up and rubbed my back as I hacked up mucus that was still blood tinged; I continued to cough for five minutes until I finally stopped. “That’s not going to work out too well,” I said breathlessly.

I lay down onto Murphy’s lap with my facemask on, and he rubbed my back softly.

Somebody beat at the door, and Raven yelled, “Murphy! Murphy I need you!”

He got up, and opened the door. “What?” Murphy asked in a snarky fashion.

“I need you to come with me to the dropship right now,” Raven explained frantically.

Murphy asked confusedly, “Why do you need me?”

“I’ll explain it on the way,” Raven rushed, “We need to go right now.”

Dad and I sat in the living room, but breaking our conversation Murphy opened the front door and announced, “The grounders have Finn.”
