I leaned on the bow of the boat as we sailed across the ocean in the night. The stars were a lot brighter than I remembered.

God, I never thought that I would ever get to leave the lighthouse, but there I was, sailing home with a madman, a mutant, two grounders, an AI, and my fiancé. Life has a weird way of turning out. I was going to get to see my dad...

I wonder how everybody's been doing at camp. Is Dad alright? What ever happened to the kids in Mt. Weather? Is Octavia still a grounder? Is Clarke still working with the grounders?

Jaha approached my side, and stated, "ALIE told me about your engagement. Congratulations."

"Why do you care anymore?" I spat.

He smiled kindly, "I'm still your god-father, Eve."

"No you're not," I snapped, "The Thelonious Jaha I knew died the second you left Murphy and I in the lighthouse to die."

Jaha sighed, "I did what I had to do."

I sneered, "No, you didn't. You did what that bitch in the red dress told you to do, because you're her puppet."

Jaha rested his arms on the bow like I did. "You know, Eve," he tried to persuade me, "if you were to just let ALIE show you the City of Light, you would understand why she did that."

"No thanks," I straightened my back and turned around to go back to Murphy, "I've done some pretty questionable things in my life, Jaha, but even I know that you shouldn't trust that monster."

Without another word, I walked into the shelter where Murphy was sleeping against the back wall; I quietly sat back down next to him, cuddling, and he opened his eyes.

He put his arm around my waist, and whispered, "Hey."

"Hey," I replied with a smile on my face.

"What was that all about?" Murphy asked quietly.

I huffed, "You heard?" he nodded, so I explained briefly, "The crazy, ex-chancellor was trying to get me to join him in the City of Light, so I told him to shove it."

"I knew it," Murphy chuckled, and kissed the top of my head.

I rubbed the back of his hand with my thumb, and I gently cooed, "Go back to sleep."

The boat docked at sunrise, and by now it was the afternoon, but it was still cold out. Murphy was gathering wood and I picked berries for us, but while we were doing all the work, Jaha and the mutant sat underneath a shady tree meditating.

"Hey," Emori's brother, Otan, asked Jaha, "Have you really been to the City of Light."

Emori passed by them with a bundle of wood in her arms, and she snapped, "Shut up, Otan. I'm not listening to that screech again."

Murphy stood by me, and took a berry from my hand. Then, Jaha took Otan on a walk.

I chuckled, "Thank god he's got somebody else to preach to now." Murphy set the wood off to the side.

"Not a believer?" Emori raised her eyebrow.

Murphy huffed, "I believe you're here for a reason, but it better not be to fuck up our lives again." Murphy's fingers ran up and down my spine, and I smiled as he tried to tickle me.
