Clouds loomed heavy over the land, and I watched the forest from the mouth of the cave. I was still upset with Murphy, and we hadn't spoken to each other much since last night.
"I'm heading out," Murphy stated, standing next to me. "You going?"
I didn't even look at him. "No," I replied bluntly.
Murphy sighed, "Eve," and he placed his hand on my shoulder. I yanked my shoulder away from his hand, and continued to ignore him. Placing himself in front of me, I looked to my right, but Murphy placed his hand on the side of my face, bring my eyes to his. "Look at me, Eve," he begged.
"What?" I snapped.
He sighed, "I'm sorry, okay. I'm sorry that I made you upset, but we can't go back to camp. Jaha went there. What if it's filled with mindless-ALIE drones? What if we get attacked and one of us dies?"
I couldn't look at his face. "John you don't understand," I whispered, and wrapped my arms around his arm.
Murphy was silent, but he was staring at me intensely. He pulled his arm away from my grasp, and stated quietly as he turned around to walk into the forest, "I need to think."

I had followed Murphy through the forest and to a path where he thought it would be a good idea to rob someone all by himself. He smeared rabbit's blood on the side of his face, and I couldn't help but to laugh at him.
Walking out from behind the tree line, I approached him, and stated, still laughing, "I do a much better job of making you look dead."
Murphy jumped back in fear, but was calmed down when he realized that it was just me. "I thought you stayed back at the cave?" he questioned, confused.
"You need backup," I stated. I took his hands into mine, and explained, "and I also wanted to tell you that I'm sorry for throwing a bitch-fit."
He smirked, and then kissed my forehead. "We'll go back to camp after this one," Murphy whispered.
I looked up at him in shock, and I was greeted with his sweet smile; I grinned in return. In the distance, horses neighed and men shouted at one another. "I'll be here for you," I smiled, releasing my hands from his.
Quickly, I ran back into the tree line, crouching down behind a tree with my knife drawn, and Murphy threw himself in the center of the path. Three, large men dismounted their horses, and all three brandished weapons.
The leader of the trio approached Murphy with his machete drawn, and I felt my heart stop beating in my chest. Cold shivers ran down my spine, and my skin went clammy. The man picked Murphy up off of the ground by his shirt, and while pointing is blade at his chest, shouted something in Grounder.
The dark-skinned man who held a bow and arrow surveyed the bushes and trees nearest to him, and the man who held Murphy asked him threateningly, "We know you're not alone, where's the girl?"
No.
I tried to silence my breathing as much as I could, and dug my nails into my thigh to calm myself down.
Murphy was quiet, thinking of a lie. "She left," he stated.
The dark-skinned man rummaged through Murphy's backpack, pulling out our belongings.
