"So, as a new reform narcissist, I would like for us to have a conversation about the two giant elephants in the.. well, the boat," Castor says looking around, rowing the boat, before his gaze fell on the two girls. "Why'd you agree? And what happens when you can't deliver on your end of the bargain?"
"I just assumed that she would find it in herself to let us go and eventually forgive us for lying to her- oh, yeah I hearing it now," She says cutting herself off. "I do think with my heart and with my morals. You were right"
"It's not always bad a thing," Melaina says from beside her with a shrug. "You see me differently compared to others, who only see me as the daughter of Hades, who wants to destroy everything"
"Because you are different"
Scoffing he looked behind himself. "It's most definitely a bad thing, especially when petrifaction is on the line," Castor says not caring about their intimate moment. "I will not die because of you, I have more important things that need to be done once this is over"
"Like what?"
"Making nice with the Dryad?"
"I'll have you know Phoebe is more than what meets the eye" he defended. "Show some respect"
"Whoa!" Thalia says eyeing him shocked. "You are reformed" Melaina chuckled, while Castor rocked the boat pretending to tip them over. Though, His plan backfired, once Melaina quickly grabbed her hand, pulling her back. "Thanks," She says with a weak smile.
"No problem" she smiled in return, but it dropped once she looked at the man in front of her. "Knock it off"
Castor groaned but didn't protest. "What will you be doing after this? Both of you?" He then asked. "Well, no need to tell me what you're doing, flightless birdie, I assume you will be right next to Melinoë"
"Like always. It's the best place to be" She says, not realizing how romantic that had sounded. "Where she goes, I wanna be by her side," She paused for a moment, now realizing her words. "Because you know you I have to make sure she doesn't end up in trouble or something like that and who better to make sure of that than me?" She played off.
"Uh-huh. Nice save" Castor says taking notice of her rosy cheeks. "Got something on your cheeks, right there" She flicked him off but laughed. "I don't even understand the gesture"
"How have you both been around for so long but don't understand so many things?"
They shared a look before answering her together. "We didn't talk much to the locals," they say with laughter.
"How about you, ghosty?"
"I just wanna be able to see my siblings and to make my Father proud" Melaina answers truthfully. Castor nodded in understanding, while Thalia rubbed at her knee for comfort. She made eyes with the woman but said nothing as she stared into her eyes, but Castor, wanting some attention, broke up their staring contest, by coughing. "What about you, Cas? Still wanna be immortal?"
He smiled at the question with a clap of his hands, as he stopped rowing. "I do. More than ever now" He shares with them. "I was doing it for my brother, but seeing as he has low expectations from me, screw him and his whole act of pretending to care about me. I now want to be immortal to prove them all something but more so to prove to myself that I am capable of being a good person"
"I- wow, that's good. Good for you" Thalia complimented. "So does this mean you're going to stop messing with me? And be nicer to me?"
"I may be reformed and trying to be a better person but these types of things just don't happen overnight birdie. Baby steps, my Zeus!" He exclaimed, making her roll her eyes at him.
