The room was silent and cold as both Thalia and Melaina looked around anxiously. Thalia took a sit down on the bed, patting her knees trying to keep herself calm, though it was easier said than done, as she saw the blue electric light around her fingers. Melaina stood across the room glanced at her hands than at her face.
"Gather your emotions up. We don't want them to get out of control"
"I'm working on it," She says closing her eyes taking deep breaths.
Melaina moved to walk her way but stopped once Thalia spoke up.
"No, don't come any closer" she breathed out in a calm voice. "I can control it but if you come closer then it might flare up again," she says peeking through one eye.
"Ok," She says stepping back leaning up against a wall. She looked around for a moment before looking at her.
"You know this is the first and probably the only time I will ever see you so nervous and awkward," Thalia says opening her eyes fully. "It's strange. But like in a good way"
Melaina scoffed. "I do not get nervous and awkward about anything. I am Goddess, small mortal things like a talk do not affect me"
"So let's talk about the kiss then?" At the mention of their kiss, she visibly tenses up, which didn't go unnoticed by Thalia. "Doesn't affect you, huh?"
"Why would you do that?" She then asked.
"I fell, remember?"
"I'm serious"
"Lack of judgment," she says with a shrug. "I don't know what else to say.."
"That was a mistake, Thalia. And I can't afford to have mistakes be made"
"You can't afford- wait what do you mean? A mistake?" She repeated once it registered in her head. "You kissed me back, remember? You pulled me into you more, remember that?" She whispered yelled looking at her offended.
"Ok well, we both made some pretty big mistakes" She confessed taking the fall so they didn't argue. She let out a huff before continuing. "Everything is all jumbled up for me right now and I can't understand any of it, but that's why I'm so adamant about focusing on this... I don't wanna focus on me right now"
"Ok, I get that. That makes sense" Thalia agreed. "But I can't live with myself if I don't tell you"
"Tell me what?"
"I uh... I never dared to even dream about you feeling the same for me but then you kissed me back and I thought I had won. But now you stand here with me as if you don't know and making me spell it out for you"
"Spell out what?"
"I love you! And I don't mean that in just a friend's way and I don't wanna sound cheesy, but I needed you to know and hear it from me. Are you happy now?"
Melaina had no look of emotions on her features as she looked at her friend. She moved to sit next to her but was careful to leave a bit of space between them. Thalia looked towards the door with her eyes but glanced down at her knee once she felt Melaina's hand on it.
"I know this is not how you do things, but I can't ignore my feelings any longer"
"I'm going to tell you something that I have never told anyone before," She says after a while. "I like your stupid face" She joked, making the other girl gasp as she slapped her forearm before bumping shoulders with her. "And I do not wanna not see it every day with that big plastered smile decorating on it" She couldn't help the smile that showed. "That one, right there" she pointed with her finger. "Would you believe me if I told you that I don't know what feelings, I'm supposed to feel right now?"
