A week later

"Can I just say what a wonderful job I did at training you?" Castor said as they walked into the house dripping with sweat as mud and dirt covered their features. "You are looking better already"

"I still don't like your ass," Thalia says pushing past him, setting her spear down in a corner as she placed her knives on the table. "Mel? Mel, you here!?" She called out in the house but didn't receive a reply.

"Oh, didn't you know? She left to talk to an old friend of ours. To make sure everything is set and ready for our departure" Castor informed her, his voice was calm, but he had an arrogant tone as he spoke. "And here I thought the two best friends shared everything. Ah well perhaps not, I guess"

She huffed, crossing her arms over her chest leaning back on her left leg. "I know why I don't like you but what is your problem with me? Or is it just embedded in you, ass clowns, to be so rude and harsh to mortals?"

"You are not mortal, remember? And so why bother to defend them? And why the assumption that I have a problem with you?"

"Ok first off I was once a mortal..more or less. And second, because you just waltz on in here and-"

"Ah waltzing was a grand invention," He says cutting her off. "The scandalous charade of it being seen as sex was the talk of the town for years to come," He says remembering back to the old days. "Did Melinoë tell you that was our first of many dances together? She never cared much about it like I, but with our bodies pressed into one another's-"

"I think I'm going to be sick" She faked gagged, interrupting him. "I don't need details to such a horror show"

Laughing at her antics, he glanced her way before a smile wiped across his lips. "To answer your question I do not have a problem with you. I, in fact, rather much enjoy your energy. However, I am very displeased at the fact that you have kept Melinoë away from me all this time" He lied walking away from her with sulking shoulders.

"What do you mean? I'm not keeping her away from anyone" She says following after him into the kitchen.

"I have asked for her help many times over the past two months and she was unable to accompany me. Told me that she has rather much more important things to handle on this side of the world" He cast his eyes towards her, seeing she had a saddened facial expression. "But at last the picture is quite clear on what was so important for her to keep her attention here"

"..."

"Don't be sad," He says coming to her side, placing a hand on her shoulder, trying to comfort her. "Training you and keeping you safe is her number one priority. And thank the Gods that it is. Why it should be" He says his attitude becoming more chipper with enthusiasm.

"How so?"

"Ah well, you know if I were her and my human- I mean my best friend's life was always in danger because of me I would feel obligated as well to remain by her side even if I had other things to attend to. But I guess that just our good old Melinoë for you" Walking away he sat on the other side across from her. "I have known Melinoë for a lifetime and if I know one thing about her, she stays where she feels obligated to do so, even if that means sacrificing love in the process"

"..So that's your problem with me? You think I'm the reason why she's not with you?" Her once saddened expression turned into a more serious and alluring expression. Castor once arrogant demeanour dropped, once he had realized he had been tricked.

"What?"

"Castor? I'm ashamed of you. Really. You almost had me there in the first half, I'll admit. But now I'm realizing that it is all out of jealousy and spiteful pettiness. You may not like being a mortal or you may not be a god but one thing you all both have in common is willfulness to just be downright petty and selfish and expect to have a good outcome"
