Maya's POV

After Clark leaves, I take a hot shower to relax my mind and muscles. Thankfully it works like a charm. I am left with a tangled mess of hair on my head, all wet and dripping and it's a another piece of work. I honestly need to work on it.  I look in every corner of the room but there isn't any pair of scissors or anything sharp I can use to cut my hair. For a moment there, I think of using a knife but it seems absurd. Hahaha, a knife. Really? Well then, I guess I have no choice but to dry it and leave this work for another day.

Time seems to pass by really slowly after I am done drying my hair and trying to comb through it to make it less messy and more... presentable. I scroll through all the TV channels but nothing piques my interest so I give up. I try doing some push ups, some planks and squats but even that doesn't put me at ease. I pace back and forth on the bottom floor. I honestly don't know how big this house is and I am not the type to pry but this boredom is killing me. I honestly wish I was with Larry right now, at least he would give me something to work on.

My mind seems to wander a thousand miles per second and it's on the verge of driving me crazy. Even working out, my favorite thing to do isn't of much comfort right now. The urge to venture through the house overtakes me but only for a short while, so short that I don't even take a step forward. I am not that kind of person. I was only given permission to stay here a while so I must not over step my boundaries. But if I don't get my mind and body busy, I will slowly run mad from nothingness. I have never witnessed a day such as this. Hell, I never dreamed of it. What should I do? Looking around the living room, something crosses my mind. The only actual thing I can do to pass time.

"Wowwwwww, What's that delicious smell?" I hear a soft sweet voice say from the living room and I take a peek. It's Cassandra. She notices me peeking and rushes to the kitchen.

"Did you make all of this?" Her eyes shine with curiosity and interest.

"Yes I did. I guessed you would be hungry and exhausted when you got back so I made this. I hope it's not a problem."

"Oh no dear. It's just what I needed. Perfect."

"What's perfect?" I hear a deep voice say and both me and Cassandra look to the entrance of the kitchen. There stands a man with long blonde hair, about 6'5 and very muscular, not to mention very handsome. Is it just me or is every man related to Cassandra very handsome. First it was Clark, then Dr. Adan and now this stranger.

"Her cooking. I think we should taste it. It must taste as good as it looks." Cassandra moves towards the table and fishes herself a plateful of everything I have prepared not wasting a single second to dig right in.

"So you must be Miss mysterious. I am Nelson Walker. Nice to finally meet you." He brings his hand forward for a handshake and I hesitantly bring mine forth and shake his hand. His hand is very soft but equally firm. He doesn't seem like the guy who does any kind of hard work.

"I am Maya Sheldon. Nice meeting you too Walker."

"Fancy having you call me by my surname. I like it. Anyway, we should probably eat right now before that glutton finishes every single thing you made."

"Who are you calling a glutton? Huh?" Cassandra says with a mouthful of food which makes her kind of cute. I chuckle as they both start to bicker between themselves. They behave like kids.

"Um, where is Clark?" I ask and they stop their bickering. Walker is the first to answer.

"Oh you're looking for your prince charming? Well, he should be on his way any time soon." Hey says with a light smirk on his face.

          "He's not my prince charming."

"He also is in denial but time will reveal everything." He gets a plate and makes his serving and I stupidly just stand there not knowing what to do or how to answer Walker. Cassandra walks to me and slightly pushes me towards the table to take a seat.

"You should also have some of what you just made. Your cooking is really incredible."

"I agree. You could start your own restaurant, you know? I can be your partner." Walker states and looks at me seriously to get his point through.

"I will think about that but for now, let's leave everything the way it is."

"That's fair." I get a plate myself and get a small potion of food. I really don't feel like eating much anyway. So we all go silent, each one concentrating on the plate in front of them. Just not long after, I hear the front door open and shut and Clark makes an appearance.

"Hey Cass, I wanted to say I am....." He stops dead in his tracks when his eyes meet mine. For a second there, my heart stops beating and soon starts beating ten times faster than usual. Someone clears their throat pulling Clark and me out of our reverie.

"Miss mysterious made dinner. You can dig right in if you want to." Walker says and motions for Clark to take a seat just beside me since he put his leg on the seat next to him. This guy knows what he's doing and he's good at it.

"Don't call her that. She has a name you know." Clark spits spitefully but it doesn't seem to affect Walker a tiny bit.

"Seems you're the only one who has a problem. She hasn't complained." He smirks because he knows he's getting to Clark's nerves.

"Well maybe because you haven't given her a chance to have a say."

"We can ask her. She's right here." This is interesting.

"I actually don't mind. Walker can call me anything he pleases." I say and literally Clark's veins pop out of his skull but he drops the issue anyway. I smile beside myself at his behavior. Seems these two are really good friends with Walker being the teaser and Clark the receiver. Hahaha.

Clark takes a plate too and takes what suits him and he eats without a word.

"Don't you think her cooking is extra-ordinary?" Walker asks Clark and he finally puts his head up. He looks at each one of us before his eyes linger on my face. He clears his throat.

"You cook really well. It's delicious." He says and smiles. My heart does a little dance at that beautiful smile of his.

"Thank you." We are stuck in a world of our own before Walker intrudes.

"Hey, we are still here you know. You can do that later when we are not around. My poor weak heart won't be able to take it." He clutches his chest while making a cute pout. I simply laugh and nod my head at his childishness. He's a fun guy to be around. Cassandra also laughs and slightly nudges Walker at his side. Clark only looks more angered and he keeps silent. With chatter here and there and Walker only putting Clark on edge, we soon finish our dinner and clear the table all together. This is something I have never experienced. I have never been this happy and peaceful ever since I came to life. I have never felt the urge to let my guard down even for just a short while like I have today.

I barely know any of these guys but they welcomed me to their home without a doubt. They treat me like one of them, like I belong here. They have not, even for one second, treated me like an outsider but rather treat me with respect even after knowing who my father and fiance are. For a moment I just wish this could last forever.
