Maya's POV
"Maya." William with a soft voice says my name and it rolls perfectly off his lips. I haven't met this guy nor do I know him but I feel very happy to see that he's alive and well. Part of me wants to run and hug him but the shock all too well keeps me to the ground. I can't move any part of my body except my eyes and they land on someone tied to a chair. I sure didn't notice him when I got here earlier.
"This is sick. I have been looking for you every where Camaya yet here you are. Oh I get it now, you are the one who hired this punk here to capture me."
"What did you just call me?"
"What did you just call me?" Both William and I ask at the same time, our concentration completely turned to him now.
"Now stop playing innocent will you? I know you hired this punk here..." Before he can finish his sentence, William knocks him out with a punch. Pretty strong.
"He completely deserved that." He says as he turns to fully face me and a small smile covers my face. I don't know what is happening right now. I feel emotions that I don't feel towards anyone. Right now I am happy seeing him, my heart is fluttering with every second my eyes stay on his face. Again I am routed to the ground and can't move a muscle. He moves closer to me and wraps his arms around me in a tight hug.
I feel warm, happy, comfortable, safe even. You know when a father or brother wraps their protective arms around you, yeah that feeling is what I feel right now except I have never known it until now so just imagine how awkward this is for me. Slowly and carefully, I lift my arms and wrap them around him too and a smile breaks through my face, without noticing it, I am crying. Maybe these are Camaya's feelings and if they are, this time, this time I will embrace them and not push them away.
"Hey, now don't cry. Your big brother is here." He wipes the tears of my face and kisses my forehead. For a second there Clark floods my memory but I push him at the back of my mind. I need to be here right now.
"Wow, family reunion." A voice all too familiar says before the owner appears through the darkness but what captures my attention most is the man standing next to him. Larry.
"Did you two follow me here? And what do you mean by family reunion? I don't know who this guy is. The person five seconds ago wasn't me."
"Sure it wasn't you." William mocks and reaches for Walker giving him a pat on the shoulder.
"Do you guys know each other?" Looking at them all standing in front of me makes me realize that there's something that doesn't add up. They all just look at me without bothering to answer any one of my questions. Larry seems to be looking for something by the way his eyes scan the area. He pulls out his phone and dials a number and the person picks up. That was fast.
"Come in." So he did bring his lackeys. Well, where does he ever go and not one of his dogs follow him? I know. No where.
Three men come shortly after the call ends and position themselves in front of him. One I do recognize from the time we first met when I was looking for Larry after Jacob's death. He looks at me and smirks. So he does remember me. Well of course he has to remember me. I am after all the only child of his boss.
"Take him to the warehouse." Larry points over to the passed out guy on the chair that I had momentarily forgotten about. Two of them pick his tall body up and drag him outside. The guy I recognized whispers something to Larry and leaves soon after.
"Will someone have the balls to tell me what's going on? Walker, I thought you said you didn't know him? Why are you here with him then? How is..."
"You ask way too many questions sis. Relax, all your questions shall be answered. Come, let's go somewhere safe and you will find out everything you need to know." I try to ignore the fact he called me 'sister' which makes me feel a certain way. He throws his arm around my shoulders pulling me closer to him. Honestly, this guy's tall. I am like an ant standing next to him just like I am next to Walker or Clark. I don't know how they all are so tall. We all walk outside towards Larry's car and I try to attempt to head to my car but Larry speaks up.
"Give your car keys to Zane, he will bring your car where we are headed." He says as he pulls the door to the driver's seat open but before he can enter I interrupt.
"Can't I just follow you there?"
"No, get in the car right now." He hisses and again I stop him before he tries to enter the car.
"Why should I even listen to you?" Walker and William are just standing by the car doors already wide opened watching our interaction with amusement. There is nothing amusing to me talking to Larry.
"Because you need me more than I need you." He answers, enters the car and slams the door shut. Arrogant. Right now I am really debating following him but then again the only people who can help me right now are just in front of me. I mutter a silent fine and throw my car keys to Zane then enter the back seat on the right of the car. Walker sits to my left and William on the shot gun.
The whole ride is silent in a way that is very annoying to me. I don't like silence that much unless I'm in the kitchen working my magic. As if reading my mind, Walker opens his mouth.
"I can't take this anymore, it's killing me. Why aren't we saying something?"
"I wonder how you managed to keep it from me that you know Larry considering you're someone who doesn't keep their mouth shut." Guess I said that out loud because all eyes are on me. Even Larry's staring at me through the rear mirror.
"What?" They all turn their heads ahead of them and the deathly silence settles in again. For about an hour, no one talks and each second that passes is driving me closer to the point of snapping but before that, where are we going? This has certainly been a long drive.
"Are we going out of the city or what?" No one as much as looks at me or gives me an answer. I shove Walker on the side but he just pushes my arm away. He seems mad about what I said an hour ago.
"Ok, fine, I am sorry Walker. Tell me where we are going."
"If you actually were genuine with the apology, I might have told you." He says and turns his head back to the window. I'm sure I won't get the answers I need anyway so I altogether stop trying. I turn my body to the car door, my knees touching the door and my forehead on the window. The drive and my head on the window makes me nauseous. I lean back against the seat and relax a little bit. I mean why not? Everyone's avoiding my questions and I don't know how long this drive will be so I can rest. Slowly I drift in to sweet slumber and everything around me becomes muted and dark.
