"This is sketchier than the berries I ate on the road," Elle mumbled. Her and Carl were in the pitch black tombs searching for the source of the screaming with only two flashlights to guide them.

Carl gave her an exasperated look but Elle couldn't see it as her flashlight went out. She cursed under her breathe and hit it against her hand a couple of times but nothing worked.

"Just stay behind me," Carl told her.

"Why? Because you're a dude?" Elle questioned. "Because while I may not have made it passed the sixth grade I am well aware that-"

"It's cause I have a flashlight," Carl sighed.

"Right. I knew that," Elle said. She held her gun up while staying slightly behind Carl and continued to track the sound.

The two of them didn't say anything else, the sound of their footsteps filling the air, mixing with the woman's screams.

While they would never show it and absolutely never admit it, both teens were extremely scared for two completely different reasons. Carl, still traumatized from when they were down there with his mom, and Elle, not having any pleasant memories in the dark. And none she wanted to relive.

Eventually they found the origin of the screams and it made both of them freeze. It was coming from the boiler room. The same place Lori died.

A few moments later, Elle snapped out of her trance, but Carl was still frozen in fear. It took Elle snaking her hand around his wrist and giving him a squeeze for him to come back to reality. Their eyes met and they both nodded, advancing into the room.

Inside, they found a small group of people fighting off walkers. The two immediately jumped into action, gunning down as many as they could. They worked so in synchronization that they surprised the adults they found.

"Come on! Hurry!" Carl shouted at the strangers.

"I got the tail end, don't let them in our cell block, not yet," Elle quickly instructed.

"I know."

"Quit bickering and move!" Elle shoved him slightly forward and the group started running as fast as they could. It wasn't very fast though as one was injured, Elle just didn't know how.

Slightly surprised that they all made it out, Elle rested her forehead against Carl's shoulder for a moment before picking it up to look at the strangers. There were five of them, and it seemed Carl and Elle noticed at the same time what injury one of them was suffering.

A walker bite.

The two's eyes moved from the other to the injured stranger, silently deciding what to do.
