"This is bullshit!"

Maggie ducked as a book came flying across the room. Hurricane Elle was taking over their house, that was why Tommy was at the Grimes house right now with Carl and Judith.

"We all know I'm more than capable than almost all those adults!" Elle continued her yelling. "Me and Carl aren't some kids! We know how to protect ourselves! We can help!"

"Rick said-"

"Rick's not my dad!" Elle pointed out to Maggie. "Just because he- because he put me in a fucking timeout doesn't mean-"

"Enough!" Maggie stood up, making Elle freeze her pacing. "Yes, Rick put you in a timeout. Yes, he won't tell anyone why. Yes, I trust his judgment. Yes, you are going to listen to me and Rick unless you want to tell me why he put you in a timeout."

Elle hesitated, "...Rick told me not to tell anyone."

Maggie sat back down, Elle having proven her point for her. It was annoying sometimes how good Maggie was at the whole parenting thing.

Elle did have a pretty strong argument though. Yeah, she had gone off the end and killed Pete, but Pete needed to die. She didn't regret it at all, except for the fact that Rick was now treating her like fragile glass. Carl telling everyone about Elle's plan to kill Lincoln and him being in the woods didn't help her case much either.

Despite all of that, Elle was a warrior. She could set her shit aside for a moment to help the group. They were taking on a big task. They were trying to move an enormous herd away from Alexandria. The more people the easier it would be, that was why Elle thought that she and Carl should've gone with them.

Maggie sent Elle to help Carl babysit, something she was not happy about. She loved Tommy and Judith, but she could be doing so much more with what she had. Nonetheless, she embraced the moment, currently showing off one of her comic books to Tommy.

"How you doing, Little Man?" Elle asked while she flipped the page, trying to nonchalantly fit the question into what they were doing.

"I'm great, I love this book," he told her.

Elle gave him a sad smile, not wanting to ruin his good mood but also knowing it was time for him to talk.

"And what about Noah?" she asked. "How are you doing with that?"

Tommy looked over at her as he said, "I think I've been a little better since Tara woke up. She reminds me of Noah a lot."

"It's okay to be sad," Elle reminded him. "Or angry, or whatever you're feeling. I mean, you've seen how I act. Maybe don't chuck a book at me like I did to Maggie but you can cry, yell, whatever you need."
