     The kitchen was filled with highschool teens and very few college students . Xandra made her and Lily drinks . Xandra passed the drink to Lily and she took a sip of the drink . Her face scrunched up and she shut her eyes tight before shaking her head and loosening up.

" what is this?" she asked, Xandra took a sip of her own drink , not having the same reaction like lily.

" just a vodka soda" Xandra she chimed, Lily looked into the cup and up at Xandra

" ya sure, cause it taste more vodka than soda" Lily said before taking a can of soda out of a cooler and opening the tab. 

" really, come on to water it down" xandra said

" I'm not , sure making it a bit more enjoyable " Lily responded pouring about 1/4 of the soda inside the cup. She raised the cup and sipped yet again , she could still feel the burn of the alcohol but the soda made it a bit more enjoyable on her taste buds. " ok im good, lets go" Lily said , Xandra grabbed her hand and they made their way to the backyard. While passing by Lily saw a small group of guys looking at her, or both her and Xandra. One on them winked at her and she looked away from them , she's never seen them at her school or did they look like they would be in highschool. The guy that winked at her was around 6' feet tall, he had dark brown hair that almost looked black in the flashing lighting of the party, his hair was parted in the middle and he was clearly up to date of fashion . They were attractive , sure . But Lily knew boys like those aren't here for any relationships .

    They made it outside , more teens were there. Though it was more calm other than the sea of tipsy and sweaty teenagers inside the house. They made there way towards a bonfire and sat down a patio swing a few feet away .  The swing swayed when they sat upon it. Lily observed the people amongst the party. Music was also playing outside , not as loud but more of a type of background sound to appeal . Lily sipped on her drink more and saw the same group of possible college boys come out of the house. There was about four of them. The boy who had winked at her searched with his eyes across the yard to find someone or something .  Please, don't be looking for me. Please be looking for someone else, she begged in her mind. Dreading the thought of interacting with guys . The boy spotted her and he and his friends started talking before heading over to them. Lily looked at Xandra who was talking to some guy with longish hair , seated next to them on a lawn chair . 

The college boys were just about to make it to them before patrick plopped right down next to Lily and threw his arm over Lily's shoulders and glared at the boys who stopped in their tracks , the main boy, the boy who had wink at Lily, scowled at Patrick . A bit upset that he was beat by some psycho. Lily looked at patrick and smiled. The guys settled near them, the guy closely waiting for the psycho to leave .

" thank you" Lily thanked him

" for what?" Patrick said, playing dumb. Patrick was standing right by those boys when they were about to make their way over to Lily , he wouldn't give to fucks what the guys were gonna do to some girl. But to patrick it wasn't just some girl . It was her .  So he did the most logical thing he knew, he went over to her and threw his arm over her shoulders . Lily liked the warmth patrick gave her, she was silently thankful that he came over to her instead of those guys . Xandra looked over to Lily and saw patrick, with his arm over her shoulders . Xandra was fuming
