Lily had her ears perked for the sound her telephone . She'd thought she would call him first but she remembered the first time she tried calling the Hockstetter household phone. Patrick had came not long after her call, she soon reflected she didn't want to seem desperate for Patrick's attention and decided to find a better way to spend her spare time. She was going to look further into Xandra's possible where abouts, or at least check up and Xandra's mother. Lily had changed in some jeans and a graphic T-shirt and made her way outside towards the side of the house, where her bike had been stored.

Lily straddled the seat of her cherry red bike and off she went, riding down streets until she neared Xandra's house. She could see Claire-Ann's bright yellow beetle in the driveway, collecting dust and dirt form the lack of use. She could also she Xandra's father's (Stuart) car in the driveway. Clean and shiny .

Lily stopped her bike and flicked down the kickstand on her bike. She made her way towards the front door and rose her hand in a fist. Ready to knock . Lily's chest tightened and her throat became parched, suddenly dry . An audible click in her her throat could be heard as she shallowed dryly.

Lily tapped her knuckles against the door, a bit to lightly to be heard form inside the house. She got a hold of her herself and knocked a little louder. In that very moment she remembered she could've use their door bell . She could hear faint shuffling from inside the home. The door opened and the restless face of Claire-Ann Quinn appeared. she wore a red house dress, her usually updo hair in a messy ponytail, Claire-Ann had her husband's grey zip-up hoodie hugged on her body.

"Ahh , Lily dear. Come in , come in" Claire-An spoke tiredly and she guided Lily into the living room. They both sat down on they dark brown leather couch facing each other.

"How have you been ?" Claire-Ann asked .

" I've been okay, i could ask you the same"

"Oh , yes. . . it's been hard. I've been worried sick , you know? The sheriff has been on the case. Thank God Stu had befriended the fellow, i rest easier knowing someone trustful is looking for our daughter.  " Claire-Ann informed

" if you would be so kind would you tell the sheriff more about Xandra and the night you last saw her. . . you know since you were the last one to see her" Claire-Ann asked , her cold skinny hands holding Lily's small warm ones.

"i could, i suppose " Lily said anxiously . If Lily went to the sheriff she would have to tell the truth or tell the truth but lie at the same time about that night . Lily was a horrible liar. She was worried about the sheriff finding out that Lily had taken drugs that night and didnt remember much about where Xandra had gone . . . i don't have to tell the sheriff about the drugs, the drugs aren't the important facture here. Xandra is. Lily had thought as she carelessly nodded and hummed in agreement as Claire-Ann continued to speak about starting a group to help find ' her baby' .

" How about we talk about this more tomorrow , when we still have more daylight to spare, I'll make lunch and we can start planning out things. Maybe you could even stay for dinner, how does that sound?" Claire -Ann told as she realized Lily was dazed and not entirely listening to her, Claire-Ann figured Lily was lost in her thoughts, worrying .

It must be so hard for the poor girl, having your best friend disappear on you like that, she must feel so lonely . Claire-Ann thought sympathetically

"Yeah, that sounds nice, i have to return a dress i borrowed from Xandra anyway. Don't want her worrying where it is when she gets back, you know?" Lily spoke, laughing slightly to mask to ever-growing sorrow . Claire-Ann smiled and nodded understandingly . Claire-Ann patted Lily's hands and stood up from the couch . Lily following along.

" Oh well, you better get home , eat than go straight to bed . i want you to well rested for the day ahead" Claire -Ann spoke , smiling. The dry skin of her lips splitting slightly as her lips stretched . Claire wet her lips to dull away the dryness and started to guide Lily to the front door

"Be safe and enjoy the rest of your evening " Claire-Ann spoke as she watched Lily head towards her cherry red bike.

" Always" Lily said , waving a brief goodbye to Claire-Ann . It didn't take long for Lily to arrive home, time had seem to fly by as she rode on her bike. She started to noticed how quiet her house was as she stood on the patchy lawn of her house. The  living room lights were on in the house, but she knew no one is home . At least no one would be home until later into the night . Belch would come home around 10 pm, or later so after clocking out from his new job at the super market. He had told no one but his mom and sister he had worked there. He wanted to work with his father, but Belch hadn't felt the need to drive all the way across the town of Derry to do so. Also doing inventory and stocking up shelves wasn't so bad. Lily's mother wouldn't come home until 6-7 am in the morning the next day if she decided to go along with her nightshifts, but since School is starting soon for Lily, her mother was most likely going to change her hours.

Lily was always home , she didn't have a job, or friends like Belch's , or responsibilities like her mother's. She was just Lily.

Maybe i should get a job, maybe mom will deem me responsible!

Where would i work though? Lily thought as she leant her bike against the the side of the house. walking her way to the front door, pulling out her house key that was attached the rabbit's foot keychain that Patrick had made her.  Lily had brainstormed places she could work, what she would see herself accessible in .

Her thumb pet the soft fur of the rabbit's foot. It was ideally weird knowing she was petting a dead rabbit's foot but she couldn't help but brush her thumb along the fur. it was so soft  it remaindered her of one time she had been at her father's house, and a neighborhood kid had a pet bunny and left her pet it.

Lily remember Patrick saying something about how he made the keychain. Did he kill the rabbit too? she had speculated

Does he like hunting, he doesn't look like he would enjoy hunting. Lily had wondered . She wanted to know if she asked, would he tell the truth ? There was no point in hiding anything from her, right?

She wanted to watch a film but she usually had someone to watch a film with, either it be Belch or Xandra. But neither were there. So she pondered about Patrick as her hands shuffled through tapes . She guessed she'll have to watch a movie by herself .

Patrick looked like a guy who enjoyed a good horror movie or a thriller at best. She had caught on to Patrick's different and odd behavior early on . How he seemed to suppress things a little darker than she would . she knew he thought more than he talked, he was also less rowdy and  more quiet .

Lily's hands had stopped and she pulled out the tape of ' Edward Scissorhands', oh how Lily adored the movie. She found it to be an amazing but tragic love story . Lily had begged her mother to buy the movie , she begged and begged until her mother grumbled out an 'Okay' and drove down the local bookstore (where they oh so kindly sold films too, along with music records ) and purchased the movie, Lily had watched the film over and over again that night until her mother told her to quit it and that she had all the time now to watch it .
