Teaching - Chapter 14

"i thought i told you to stop jumping," i say looking at him.

"you did. but it's fun so i do it anyway." everyone chuckles at that.

"I'm pyotr lokison or on earth, I'm peter parker. fake last name i use at school and work" Peter introduces himself.

"oh. that makes sense why Loki didn't want anyone meeting you. Anyways, I'm Wanda Maximoff, don't have a hero name or HYDRA name. And thank you for this."

"it's fine i grew up around magic and had time to learn. this has all been put on you at once. i remembered when my father first taught me magic. it was the day after my 10th birthday. I learned fast. a bit after my 11th birthday i started hearing voices in my head. Then i realised i have not just magic, but I also have powers. The voices weren't in my head but everyone else's. If that's also for you, i don't know how long it has been like that but you might just go insane." Peter says guiding Wanda to the Magic room and we follow wanting to sit in for a bit.

"um, yh. I've had these powers for probably 3 months. The voices started a month ago. it hurts. it's quiet here because i can't read your guys' minds. at HYDRA i thought i was going to snap with all the voices of my brother, the guards, the leaders, the prisoners. there were thousands of voices in my head at once and it made me just want to scream" Wanda states and what Peter tells her shocks me.

"then scream."

"what?" Wanda asks in shock.

"i do it often. you get all bottled up and you just want to scream. i was exactly like that so i did. i screamed and it felt so good. I'll do shields to protect the house, us and yourself. don't be scared of your powers, you got them for a reason. you can't control other people's fear. only your own. you don't have to be afraid. let your powers flow through you. don't reject it. connect with it." Peter tells Wanda and she nods. Peter puts a protection spell on wanda and shields all around her so her powers can only flow throughout a certain area.

"scream. Wanda scream."

Wanda screams and it's so loud. and powerful. she falls to her knees and a power burst comes out of her. we get a small taste of her power and I'm impressed. Her magic goes back inside of her and Peter gets rid of the shields and goes to her side and she takes deep breaths.

"you're ok. you're ok. how did that feel?" Peter asks and Wanda looks up in shock.

"like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. i feel so much lighter. my headache is gone and i feel free. i feel like that scream made me connect with my powers if that's possible" she whispers.

"that's good. it feels better, doesn't it? today we are going to work on blocking out the voices so the headache doesn't come back. In the next lesson, we can start to work on when to let in the voices when needed and only when you want. ok?" Peter asks in a soft voice and Wanda nods and smiles.

it's 5 hours later. We had a lunch break and a couple of other breaks but now wanda can't hear the voices. we are outside and she doesn't hear any voices in her head. when we reach the park then breaks down and cries tears of joy.

"thank you... i won't tell anyone who you are." Wanda whispers re-collecting herself.

"no. i did not teach you to get rid of that weight on your shoulder just to put more on. you can tell your brother but only your brother" Peter says looking Wanda in the eyes and Wanda smiles and nods.

"well, I'm going to head back home, we're done for today. We have the mind link. say my name in your head and i will answer if you need help. who's going where?"

"I'm going to go back to the tower, Nat said she would take me shopping for a wardrobe. got a couple of hours before dark then maybe an hour or 2 before dinner after dark. thank you again" Wanda says and Peter nods.

"I'm going to go back home with peter. also, peter interns for tony but he has a human illusion look when he does so when he is human he is Peter. He isn't he is Pyotr but you can call him Pyotr when you are alone. We've only ever seen him once for the internship though."

"ok, makes sense"

"I'll make sure she gets back safe. goodbye."

Everyone says bye then goes their separate ways with wanda smiling feeling free.

We get back home.

"Hey, dad can we talk?"

"sure, what's up?"

"i was wondering if i could bring mj and ned over tomorrow and tell them the truth about me..." peter starts off saying but it turns into a whisper.

"i was waiting for you to ask me this question. what does everyone think about your family again?"

"all dead. they think i live in an orphanage, I've known mj and ned for a year and i feel so guilty for not telling them yet. i can protect myself. Asgard knows, Wanda knows, her brother might know by now... please..." Peter begs me and i can't say no.

"Alright, I'll tell Wanda you are busy tomorrow, she knows you can't do Tuesdays and Thursdays so how about we lock in Wednesday and tomorrow you can invite your friends over."

"thank you so much, dad!"

Me and thor walk back to the tower and it feels so good just having my own voice in my head. We walk into the common room and we see everyone doing their own thing in there.

"we're back," thor says in a loud voice and Pietro is by my side in a second.

"How was it? did you learn anything?" Pietro asks and i smile, nod and silent tears of joy start slipping.

"i don't hear the voices anymore..." I whisper and Pietro smiles and hugs me and i hug back enjoying the moment. I'm free of HYDRA, I'm with my brother, everything is quiet. I'm happy.

"that's so good" Pietro whispers.

"what do you mean by voices?" Steves asks after we pull apart from the hug.

"i told you guys i could read minds... the truth is i didn't know how to not... i started hearing voices a month ago... i thought i was going insane. and i was. i couldn't handle hearing every single thought of someone. everything was loud. even when i was alone. that's why for my one thing at HYDRA i traded the tv and movies for music and headphone. it was something that could block out the voices... today i learnt how to block them out by myself... not with music... just with control," I say and a few people give me a smile.

"that's good," Nat says and comes gives me a hug.
