Once I get home, I cool Viking down, and make sure to feed and refill the water buckets for him and Ares.
I jog over to the house and walk inside to see dad wasn't inside. I start to think where he could be until I see a note on the fridge saying he's out in the workout room. I quickly go take a shower before coming down and starting dinner.
I decided to make steak, potatoes, green beans and a side salad. While everything was cooking I was working on homework in between. I hear the door open and see dad coming towards me.
"It smells good in here sweetheart." He says.
"Thanks dad! So while I was out riding today I ran into Billy's son Jacob and two of his friends." I tell him.
"Oh yeah I met his son briefly today. That reminds me, I had a meeting with the elders today." He says.
I look up at him and raise an eyebrow. "Okay?" I ask questionably.
"Apparently the Cullens are coming back tomorrow. They are vampires but they live off animal blood. I'm not telling you to stay away completely but just be careful okay?" He asks.
I nod my head in understanding.
"Also, the elders have asked me to be part of the council and be an elder myself instead of alpha. And, one last thing. While you were at school, the Cullen's moved back today causing Sam Uley to phase so he is still adjusting." He says.
Dad and I continue talking about our day and other small topics while eating dinner. I clean up the kitchen and go finish my homework.
I made sure to tell dad goodnight before I went to bed. I changed into my shorts and tank top, did my night routine and went to sleep.
About three hours later I wake up screaming from a nightmare about Hydra. Dad comes and bursts through the door looking at me with sad eyes. I can't help but let my tears fall as he climbs into my bed holding me as I cry.
