(Monday. Takes place during the week Bella and Edward are gone.) ————————————————
While Bella was gone it was finally quiet around La Push and Forks. The pack was happy that she was gone for a while except for Jacob of course. But what's new there.
We were all having another beach day. It was so beautiful outside we just couldn't pass up the opportunity. Rose and I sat on our towels soaking up the sun a little bit.
We watched Embry and Jared try and teach zoey how to surf. I think the boys failed more than she did. It was so nice to sit back and watch zoey, her dad, and uncle have some fun.
I kept watching until I was brought out of that by Rose speaking up.
"So I think it may be time for me to call the Volturi and let them know I'm different now." She says.
I looked at her confused. "What do you mean?" I asked her.
She went on to explaining more about who the Volturi kings and guard were to the vampire world. They honestly sounded terrifying. She continued to talk about how immortal children are forbidden. They are essentially a child that was turned into a vampire younger than the age of 15.
"I think it's best if I tell them myself instead of them hearing it from other sources and then showing up wanting a war. You know?" She says.
"Yeah I totally understand that. How does Jared feel about that?" I asked.
"He's not super happy about it but understands where I'm coming from. Especially if it means the baby is safe."
"How do they feel about the wolves. You know, natural born enemies and all." I say to her.
She looked in thought on how to answer that question.
"So there are shape shifters and then there are werewolves. Werewolves are considered children of the moon and when they turn they have no control over themselves. They are ruthless and vicious. Shape shifters can turn any time they want to. They have full control over themselves and are not poisonous to vampires like a werewolf is. So I'll just have to explain that to them and how I am mates to a shifter. In the vampire world, vampires take having a mate very serious. It's exactly the same to vampires as it is shifters. Their mate or imprint cannot be harmed. It's the most sacred law for vampires as well. So that's kinda why they did not step in and help very much with the Bella and new born army because Bella is not a mate for one, and two, Edward killed a mate and by law if a mate is killed, their significant other has to be killed as well because of the amount of pain they face will make them go psychotic. Which is what happened to Victoria." She tells me.
I took everything in that she was saying. It all made sense now as to why Victoria was out so hard to get Bella and kill her. She wanted Edward to feel the way she did.
"I also think I need to give them a heads up about Bella. Maybe. I don't know. I know how they feel about humans being involved in this world if they do not belong."
"What would they do to her?" I asked.
"Honestly, they would kill her. The only reason they didn't before is because Alice showed them a vision of Bella being one of them. So they gave her an out of being killed and told she was to be changed." Rose says. "Plus, the coven could even get killed because they went against their laws and kept the human alive when she was suppose to die or be changed."
I sat there for a few minutes before I responded to her. "You know I never asked, but do you ever miss them the Cullen's?"
She looked deep in thought over that question.
"I miss when things were good between all of us. Before Edward became a douche, and before Bella, and honestly before Emmett started being an ass towards you. That time when Bella wasn't around but you were, things within the family were great. We all got along but then once shit hit the fan with you and Emmett and then Edward brought a blood singer into the family it just went down hill fast. Jasper was always fighting against himself, Edward wanted to kill her too, Alice and Esme encouraged the family to accept Bella because that's what Edward wanted. And well Edward slowly started taking more control of the coven instead of Carlisle being the leader. So to answer your question. I miss what we had before. But I do not miss them enough to go back to that life style. Here I can eat, blood pumps through my veins, I have a wonderful husband who loves me, I have a baby on the way, and it's all because of you. My best friend." She finishes telling me.
"I'm glad I had you during that shit show of whatever I had with Emmett. But I'm so glad I have what I do now. I mean Embry has been so amazing. I kinda feared after being together for a while that love would have faded by now, but he goes out of his way to make sure it doesn't. We have these girls, and our pup on the way now. We always make sure to find time for one another even if it is a small intimate moment, or relaxing moment. I know we are young but my gosh having this teenage love or puppy dog love it everything to me. I never thought I would get that because of everything that happened yet here I am living an amazing life. With my family and friends. I couldn't ask for more. Well you know other than Bella not being around screwing everything up but you know what I mean." I say causing us both to laugh.
"I think I'll call the kings tomorrow." Rose says.
"Okay if that's what you want." I tell her holding her hand.
We sat there and kept watching the boys be idiots. Mom and dad were playing in the water with Natalia, zoey was now on Paul's shoulders holding the ball away from the guys, and they were all chasing her and Paul. Her giggles filled the air. It was moments like these I never wanted to end.
