Hoseok × OT7, Sope

-------

He couldn't breathe. By the time that Hoseok managed to recover from his pneumonia, he was still very weak. He had been told that apparently he had been bad enough to go to the hospital, but had managed to escape that. All in all, he knew that he hadn't been sick like that in a long time. He wasn't even aware of the last time he had been sick.

But he was aware that he had missed a lot. The managers were eager for him to come back and catch up with everything that he had missed.

There was a staggering list of things that he needed to do. On top of the list was a show that they needed to film. It involved hiking through the mountain trails just out of the city. Hoseok got heart palpitations just thinking about it. He got worn out easily now. He would collapse if he went hiking.

-------

"Does he really need to go?" Jin asked.

The manager nodded. "Everyone needs to. We can't cancel on the film crew forever."

Hoseok glanced up, sighing. He couldn't imagine hiking. The others looked at him too. He could see the worry in their gaze. They had been trying to cover for him ever since he started getting sick and they were still at it now. Hoseok would've thanked them if he wasn't so wound up in worry.

"Hiking though?" Namjoon asked. "Seriously? When he was that sick?"

The manager shrugged. Hoseok didn't even know him all that well. And yet, he got to make decisions for him.

"I'm sorry but hiking is what was decided. You know that I can't change these things."

Namjoon sighed loudly, sounding just as dejected as Hoseok felt.

In turn, all of the others tried to protest. Hoseok knew that none of them were crazy about the idea of going hiking. And he certainly wasn't. The trails were well-known for being steep at some points and were very deserted. There were few campsites. Hoseok had been there once, many years ago. Even in top physical condition, he wasn't able to go the whole way.

-------

"You ready to go?"

Hoseok nodded. Yoongi had helped him pack his backpack the night before. They had tried to keep it as light as possible. But even then, it weighed down heavily on Hoseok's shoulders, making them sore and him irritable.

Jimin looked him up and down.

"Are you sure that you want to go?"

"I guess I have to."

"You're right," Jimin said. He lowered his head. "I just want to remind you, if anything happens, please tell one of us. We'll do anything for you."

Hoseok nodded. He knew they would.

"I have a feeling that something bad is gonna happen," he said.

Jimin shook his head. "Don't say that, please don't say that."

--------

The sun was just starting to come up when they piled into the car. The manager was up front. Jungkook settled down beside. Hoseok was smushed in the middle seat, between Yoongi and Jimin. He tried to look straight out the front window the whole time. The last thing he needed was to get carsick.

Their backpacks had been thrown into the trunk.

The streets were quieter than usual. The usual traffic hadn't started yet. As they drove past familiar buildings and landmarks, Hoseok leaned back in his seat. He coughed a couple times. He didn't miss Jungkook glancing back at him through the rearview mirror.
