If there was one thing Hoseok hated, it was having a cold. He hated the whole process, the sniffling, the nose-blocking, it disgusted him.
He grabbed a tissue to blow his nose. Hoseok was known as a neat freak, so the sensation of snot on his fingers disgusted him beyond measure. He didn't know how long he would be able to deal with his cold before he went crazy.
Sighing quietly, he gazed over at his roommate - the famous Park Jimin, who was curled up, hugging his Chimmy plushie to his chest as he slept. Hoseok could hear him breathing evenly. He envied him so badly. Jimin could breathe properly - and here Hoseok was having his nose leak like a faucet.
This was going to be a long night.
--------
When Hoseok woke up in the morning, he felt worse than ever. His whole body felt heavy and getting himself out of his bed was exhausting. He needed water.
Stumbling to the kitchen, he poured himself a glass of water. He gasped when he tried to swallow. A strong stab of pain came from his throat, making him wince. The cold had gotten worse.
Hoseok coughed harshly. The coughs seemed to keep coming as he doubled over, feeling like he was about to throw up. He hated this so much.
Footsteps sounded down the hall and into the kitchen. Hoseok could tell that it was Namjoon. A lecture was about to start soon.
"Hobi, what's wrong? Are you not feeling well?" the leader's voice was laden with concern. He placed his hands on Hoseok's shoulders, looking into his eyes. "Okay, I'll call Sejin hyung to let him know that you're not going today."
No, I have to go!
The dancer grabbed Namjoon's arm in an effort to make him not leave. He had to go to practice. He had to work. He couldn't take a break just because he couldn't breathe properly. It wasn't that big of a deal. The others practiced even if they were sick.
"No-" Hoseok's words were cut off by a chesty cough. He gripped on tighter to Namjoon's arm so he could stay upright.
"You can't go to practice like this Hobi. You can't even stand up without holding onto something, and you're coughing a lot." Namjoon ripped his arm away from Hoseok but immediately wrapped an arm around the dancer and walked him over to the couch.
Hoseok didn't want to show how sick he was, but he couldn't help but fall into Namjoon's lap. Coughing so much had taken its toll on him. The dancer hadn't even had proper sleep last night, leaving him exhausted beyond measure. He closed his eyes. Hopefully Namjoon wouldn't mind him sleeping for a bit.
"Hey," somebody was shaking him. "Sleep in your room."
His voice came out muffled and weak. "Wanna go to practice..."
Namjoon wasn't the one talking because Hoseok could feel him stroking his hair, his long fingers gently comforting him. The leader really was the sweetest person.
"I will tell Sejin hyung-" Hoseok didn't let Taehyung finish. He wasn't going to miss practice. It was just a little cold.
"No, I'm going to go!" he said loudly.
"I'm sorry Hobi, you can't go practice like this. You're about to fall asleep anyway! Why don't you just rest up today and you can go tomorrow... or whenever you feel better." Tae said. There was an apologetic look on his face. He knew how much Hoseok hated missing practice.
"I'm feeling fine now!" Hoseok shot back.
Tae shook his head. Namjoon sighed. Hoseok couldn't tell whether it was from annoyance or not. He knew he was being stubborn, but was he also annoying his members in the process?
