warning: depression

------

Hoseok barely had time to scream before Jimin pushed him down into a hug on the bed. Jimin had his arms tightly wrapped around Hoseok's chest, preventing him from breathing.

"Ah, stop, stop!"

Jimin only giggled. He glanced up at Hoseok's face, his eyes sparkling.

"Scared you, didn't I?"

"Yes-" Hoseok gasped- "Very much so."

Jimin stayed on top of Hoseok for another minute, then carefully maneuvered off. He flopped onto Hoseok's bed next and stretched his arms and legs out.

Hoseok stayed trapped in the same position that he was in before - arms flayed out on the bed, breath coming out in gasps.

"Hyung?"

"Hmm?"

"Are you okay?"

"Why?"

Jimin propped himself up on one elbow. "You seem sad these days."

Hoseok blinked a few times. The pressure of tears suddenly built up behind his eyes. "No," he mumbled. The joy of Jimin's hug was fading. "I'm okay."

Jimin didn't reply. He sighed loudly and sank back down into the bed. He pulled Hoseok closer to him and wrapped him in another giant hug.

"Stop," Hoseok murmured.

"I know you like my hugs," Jimin said. "You can't lie."

Hoseok nodded. Yes, he did like them. He buried his face into the crook of Jimin's shoulder. For once, he felt comforted.

-------

Jimin was still wrapped around him when Hoseok woke up. There was a strange heaviness on his chest. It squeezed all sense of life out from him and made him feel empty. All the work that they were doing felt worthless. What was the point of getting a rap perfectly down anyway?

Hoseok stared up at the dark ceiling. Jimin's soft breathing was the only sound in the room. Hoseok released a shaky breath. He wanted this feeling to go away, to run back into the shadows where it had come from.

Whatever he was going through these days could only be described as a depressive episode. Hoseok had little to no energy the whole day, and he couldn't function properly at all. He sometimes wanted to cease existing. No, he wasn't trying, or even wanting, to hurt himself, but it was always at the back of his mind. It wasn't like anybody would care...

Jimin shifted in his sleep, burying his chin in Hoseok's chest.

Hoseok put his arm around him. Oh, everything was going to be fine. Just like he had done around Jimin, he would have to keep pretending that everything was alright. Every day was exhausting, but he wasn't going to let that show.

-------

Jimin's face was above his when he opened his eyes again. A giant smile was on his face.

"You liked sleeping with me, didn't you hyung?"

"With?" Hoseok scoffed. He shook his head. "Stop."

Jimin laughed. He ruffled Hoseok's hair quickly before sitting up. The sunlight was streaming through the window. Time for a new day.

"It's a nice day, isn't it?"

"Mmhm," Hoseok hummed. When he looked outside, he wasn't too impressed. Sure, the sun was shining, but it was probably bitterly cold.
