Stuck In Space-Time

After Dave brings Luay back to their house, Dave sets Luay down on his bed so he can get some much needed rest, and goes to find out more about the Time Warp Gem.

After a few hours, Luay wakes up and goes around the house looking for Dave.

"Hey, bro." Luay says sleepily

"AH!" Dave says as he jumps and drops the Time Warp Gem. "Holy crap you scared me. I didn't hear you come in."

"Yeah, sorry about that." Luay says. "So what are you doing?"

"Trying to research the gem."

"What have you found out about it so far?"

"Well, I found out it's called the Time Warp Gem."

"Makes sense."

Luay then pulls up a chair and watches Dave study the gem.

"Can I see the gem? Luay asks.

"Sure, but if you go back or forward in time, I'm coming with you. I don't want you going all evil and destroying the city again." Dave says as he hands the gem to Luay.

"Alright. Well, go ahead and get your suit on because I wanna go to the future again."

"Alright, wait here." Dave says as he goes to get his suit on.

Dave returns with his suit on and says "Alright, let's go."

"Alright." Luay says, grabbing Lightspeed's arm.

"Time Warp, FUTURE!" Luay says holding the gem up.

At the last second, Dave realizes the Time Warp Gem has a small crack. "WAIT!" But it was too late. The gem started to glow, brighter than ever before and then, after the light engulfed them, the gem shattered into 16 shards.

Syntax felt the gem shatter in his hand and had a look on his face which said, "I really screwed up didn't I?"

Syntax and Lightspeed opened their eyes and looked around. They were in an infinitely large white area.

"What happened?" Lightspeed asked.

"I don't know, the gem shattered." Syntax said, and followed up with "But more importantly, where are we?"

"I don't know either, but judging by the fact that the gem shattered, I would say it's safe to assume we are stuck in Space-Time right now."

"I see a part of the gem!" Syntax said running over to a piece of the shattered gem and picking it up.

"I see one, too!" Lightspeed said running over to another piece. They put their two pieces together, but it was only enough to make a quarter of the entire gem.

"Let's try finding the other pieces and putting it back together." Syntax suggested.

"Ok." Lightspeed said taking off his glasses and setting them down. "Meet back here when you're done."

"Got it!"

They looked all over, but they didn't look too far out. They ended up finding 15 out of the 16 pieces of the gem.

"I'll go look for it." Lightspeed said, zooming off. Lightspeed came back 5 minutes later with the final piece.

"You found it?" Syntax asked ecstatically.

"Sure did!"

"Nice!"

They then figured out what pieces went where, but the pieces didn't stay together.

"Got any glue or tape on you?" Lightspeed asked Syntax.

"Nope. You?"

"Nope."

"Welp, looks like we're stuck here forever. Syntax said.

"Actually I did remember seeing some sort of door when I was looking for the pieces."

"Wanna go check it out?"

"Yeah!"

Lightspeed gathered the shards of the gem and they made their way over to the weird door in the middle of nowhere.

Syntax knocked on the door. No answer. Knocked again. No answer. Syntax opened the door and peeked in. It was pitch black and he couldn't see a thing.

"Hello?" Syntax said.

"Who's there?" A mysterious voice came from the darkness.

"My name is Syntax and I have a friend with me. His name is Lightspeed."

"Why are you two here?" The mysterious voice said again.

"We used the Time Warp Gem and-" Lightspeed started to say.

"The Time Warp Gem?" The voice said with interest.

"Yeah, what about it?" Syntax said as he lit his hand on fire so him and Lightspeed could see.

"I made the gem. I know everything about it. This place here is powered using the power of the gem, but recently, the gem's power stopped and this places power went out." The voice said.

"I know how it happened." Lightspeed said.

"You do?" Said the voice, emerging from the dark area of the room and over to the area Syntax was lightning up. The voice belonged to a small, kitsune like creature.

"Yeah." Lightspeed said holding out the shattered gem.

"Oh my, that's tough." The kitsune like creature said.

"Since you're the maker of this gem could you repair it? Also what's your name?" Syntax asked.

"Yeah I can repair it. My name is Kai." Kai said

"Thanks, Kai." Lightspeed said, giving the shards to Kai.

"You're welcome. Follow me." Kai said.

Syntax and Lightspeed followed Kai farther into the little area and eventually they came across a table. Kai set the shards on the table and put the shards of the gem back together one by one, welding them together with the help of Syntax's fire.

Once the gem was back together, the power returned to the little place and showed it was actually a shop full of stuff.

"Thanks, Kai!" Lightspeed said as he grabbed onto Syntax's arm. Lightspeed held up the gem and said "Time Warp, FUTURE!" As he and Syntax disappeared in a bright white light.
