A few days after Winter Break starts my parents and I make our way to my Grandparents in Wimbourne, they have a white Victorian style mansion with a few acres of land and a (currently frozen) pond. I've only been here a couple of times throughout my life, and every time I feel uneasy. My grandparents are relatively nice people, they always shower me with expensive gifts and ask how schools going but I can tell they force themselves too.

Walking up to the large white door my mum sighs and turns to me "Now F/N, you know not too-"Curse, be rude, put my elbows on the table-"and?" My mum questions raising a brow, sighing I roll my eyes "and not ask too many questions." I say looking down "Good, that goes for you too dear" she says looking at my pa. Grunting he nods his head "Can I at least have a beer?" He questions as she knocks "They only serve wine" "Great." My pa says rolling his eyes, opening the door my Grandmother immediately clasps her hands together "Hello! M/N, F/N come in come in!" She says stepping aside "Oh P/N, you can come in too" she says eyeing my Pa. Closing the door she leads us into the Parlor Room where my Grandfather's waiting, closing his newspaper he stands and straightens his dark violet waist coat "Ah, F/N I do believe you've grown" he says walking over to lightly hug me. Turning to my Mother he does the same "What muggle food are you forcing her to eat, M/N?" He questions as my Pa approaches with his hand stretched out "Only the best" he says with a chuckle as my Grandfather reluctantly shakes his hand, roughly 30 minutes pass before I'm excused from the conversation. Stepping out of the Parlor I sigh and shake my head 'they are definitely purists' I think to myself walking over to the curved marble stairs, walking up them I head to my room.

Once reaching the elegant room I dismiss their house-elf, Minnie, and begin to unload my clothes, books, and whatever else I brought with me. Once done I walk over to one of the large windows in my room and sit down on the alcove, bringing my knees up to my chin I rest my head on them. Looking around the room I furrow my brows, the white walls and lavender tapestries make me think of the life my mum had before going to Hogwarts and how holidays must've been torturous for her.

Before I'm able to dwell on the thought I hear a 'tap tap' coming from the glass, turning my head I'm immediately met with huge orange eyes. Startled I nearly fall off the alcove, once stabilizing myself I look back at the owl. Noticing it's carrying a letter I tilt my head "Wonder who you're from?" I question standing up, scanning the window I mumble out "Ah, there you are" as I find what I was looking for. Flipping the lock I unlock the window and push it open, once the owl's inside I pull it close. Gingerly taking the letter from it's mouth I open it and begin reading -

"Dear N/N, I hope you've arrived at your Grandparents alright.

Winter Break's been unbearable on my end, my Father decided now was a great time to do business in Norway so he's left Mother and I to celebrate without him. Maybe I could visit you at your grandparents? After all, Wiltshire and Wimbourne aren't that far from one another.

                                           Sincerely, your friend D.M"

Blushing from the mention of him visiting I hurriedly find my paper and quill, sitting down at the large white desk I begin writing as Draco's owl perches on the back of my chair.

"Dear Draco, Thank you for writing me!

I'm sorry to hear about your Father, I know what it's like not being able to see family on holidays. For Instance, I'd much rather be spending Christmas with my family in America than here with my dreary old Grandparents.

About you visiting, I would love to see you but I doubt my Grandparents would approve. They seem to think girls and boys are incapable of being friends and should only "court each other at respectable ages" whatever that means, I'll ask my mum about it and write you her response.
