I rushed to get ready for lunch with my mom. Apparently she has some very big news for me and she couldn't tell me over the phone. I always loved her enthusiasm. That's where I get my excitement from.

Once I finished pulling my skin tight jeans on and pulled on my favorite tee -this is only lunch with my mother- I slipped into my chuck's and grabbed my phone, wallet and keys and took off out the door.

I hopped into my mustang, a gift I hadn't parted from since I was 16, and took off towards Olive Garden- my mom's favorite restaurant. When I arrived I parked next to my mom's car and we walked in together.

The waiter, a cute blond boy, sat us at a booth and took our drink orders. Since I was driving, I settled for tea though I longed for wine. I grabbed a couple sugar packets and shook them a bit making them even and set them aside then looked at mom.

"So, what's this big news you got for me?" I asked. I just wanted to get to the root already.

Mom smiled. "You're father pulled some strings. He has gotten you an interview at Mason Enterprises." I raise my eyebrow. "Isn't that great? They are seeking a lawyer for their legal issues and situations. You would be perfect for that job. From what your father has told me, the pay would be extremely well."

I sigh. Mason Enterprises wasn't anything I was interested in. They were a big business and they made quite a bit of money. No doubt their top of the line lawyers helped them get to where they are. I would only bring them down. Regardless of the money, Mason Enterprises is not a company I wanted to work for because of their success.

Mom raises her eyebrows and smiles waiting for a response. I smile back. "I'll go to the interview, but Mason is not exactly the company I'm interested in working for. They have their lawyers. They wouldn't be where they are now if they didn't have top dollar lawyers to skirt them out of lawsuits."

Mom's face changes to dissatisfied. "Your father had to pull a lot of strings to get you this interview. He was only trying to help. Mason Enterprises is doing quite well and they are expanding and that is why they need another lawyer. We just thought-"

"Mom. I said I was going. If I get the offer I'll take the job. Let's change the subject. The waiter, he's cute." I said and took a sip of tea. Mom looked at me and perked up a bit. I smiled.

"He is. He was looking at you." She winked and took a sip of her water. "Those are some good genes for beautiful grandchildren." She giggles at the thought.

I roll my eyes. "Geez, mom." I take a sip of my tea and the waiter stops by requesting our orders. After I place mine, mom decides she is going to take longer by asking him a series of personal questions before finally placing her order. He turns, smiles and winks at me then heads to the back. Mom laughed and I just shook my head.

When I get home, I place my keys and wallet on the counter and walk over to the couch and slump down propping my feet up on the coffee table. I lean my head back and closed my eyes thinking I would be able to catch a nap before I did anything else tonight.

My phone began to ring loudly and I sat up and grabbed my phone looking at the number. Looking at the time, I realized I was asleep for a little more than an hour. I sighed when I recognized the number but answered it.

"Come to the door." He said huskily.

I sighed but got up, phone still pressed to my ear, and walked to the door and opened it. Cam was leaning against the door frame, hands in his pocket and a smile I was all too familiar with. "What do you want?" I ask just before a yawn takes over.
