-4 Months Later-
I'm not quite sure how long my phone was ringing for because I thought it was part of my dream, but I finally woke up and stared at the clock to see that it was just after 4am. I groaned and grabbed my phone seeing Opal's number on the caller id. I swiped my finger and answered.
"Turn on CNN now!" Her voice was shaky and sounded like something was up so I grabbed the remote and turned on the television and turned the channel to CNN.
Jeremy stirred and then sat up and started to talk but I shushed him and continued to watch. A plane crash, in the hills of Missouri. It had went down sometime last night and was just found after hours of searching. Opal was talking on the phone and I could hear her mumbles but I didn't say anything and continued to watch. Finally, I heard her yell for my name and I put the phone back to my ear.
"Lex, it's Axel and Lenny. It was their flight." She's crying. "Lexi, there weren't any survivors."
The funeral and wake came quickly. Though the bodies were found, it was a closed casket funeral. I can only imagine the pain they had gone through before the crash and as I stare at their caskets, lying next to each other with flowers on top of them and pictures beside them, my heart sank and the pain of loss began to set in.
Jeremy walked to my side and gently placed his hand on my shoulder. I walked over to Lenny's casket and touched it. She was a good friend for so long. I kissed my hand and placed it on the casket, bidding her one last farewell.
