Friday night finally arrives and I couldn't be happier. I've done my best to avoid Jeremy and to keep an open mind with Cam about a relationship. So far, we have been good, but I still can't push the fact that this was never what I wanted.
When 5pm hit I packed up my things and walked out of the office and made my way to the elevators and made sure I was out the door before Jeremy could find me. When the elevator reached the main floor, I took off out the door and to my car.
When I got home, Cam was waiting patiently for me at the door and smiled when I walked up. "Hey babe." He wraps his arms around me as I approach and plants a kiss on my lips. "You up for some drinks tonight?"
I sigh with relief. Usually the first thing he wants when he's over is sex, this was certainly a change of pace that I could get used to. "After the week I had, I can't say no to that." I reply and open the door.
Walking in, I set my things on the counter and saunter up the stairs to the bedroom and kick off my shoes then throw myself on the bed. Cam joins me and pulls me to him, wrapping his arm around me and holding me tightly.
The shame from the sex once ate away at me, for not keeping a commitment other than the constant sex. This whole relationship thing with Cam, it's devouring me from the inside out and I couldn't shake this feeling that it was a mistake I could have easily avoided.
I move Cam's arm and stand up then begin to take my clothes off. I feel Cam move from the bed and make his way over but I just shrug him off me when he touches my shoulder. "I'm going to take a shower, the sooner we get out the better seats we'll get. It's going to be packed tonight." I tell him and make my way into the bathroom and shut the door, making sure to lock it as well.
When I'm out, Cam is sitting on the bed watching some show on A&E. I walk over to the closet and find a cute, peach colored strapless, lace dress and toss it on the bed and find a pair of nude pumps to go with it. I set those next to the dress and then search for a pair of panties to wear. I choose a white lacey thong and slip it on then grab a tee and pull it over my head before going in the bathroom to fix my hair and make-up.
Cam stand up when I walk out and slip out of my tee and into the dress. "That's what you're wearing tonight?" His voice doesn't sound too excited when normally he would prefer I wore nothing.
"Yes, Cam, this is what I am wearing tonight. I will grab a jacket to go over it. Please, don't do this whole possessive boyfriend thing. You know I find that unattractive." I tell him as I slip the dress over my legs and up fixing it so it doesn't move.
He sighs but doesn't say anything as I slip my heels on and then walk to my closet grabbing a white leather jacket to wear over the dress. I wasn't going to need the jacket, but it would keep Cam from speaking out for the rest of the night. I pull the jacket over my shoulders and turn to Cam who smiles and waits for me to lead the way.
The bar is packed when we arrive. University kids fill a lot of the space in the building and the bar has been taken over by sports fans. Cam grabs my hand and leads me to an empty table and we sat down. Cam kissed me on the cheek before going up to the bar to order our drinks.
At the bar, the men yell when something major happens in the game, and towards the back the university kids are being loud and daring each other to do stupid things. I smile to myself as I watch them, remembering that it wasn't too long ago that I got to experience the crazy college life and those were years I will cherish forever.
