Randy had planned a breakfast at his parent's house for this morning, which I had completely forgot about due to everything going on. Getting word from Axel and Lenny that apparently Valerie had been setting up way to get Lenny killed and Axel framed for her murder, it was almost too much to handle. There was so much going on these last few months and it only seemed to be piling up higher and higher.
Lenny has been in and out of the hospital with plastic surgery for the scars on her face. Rhett in and out of jail. I'm surprised Cam hasn't been trying to contact me to try and help him out. He probably knows better. I would never help them out in a million years.
Randy walked in and sat down next to me, shaking me gently to wake me up. I looked up at him and he smiled at me. He was already dressed and looking nice. "You have to wake up if we're going to make it to my parents on time." He says sweetly.
I yawn and slowly crawl out of the bed. "Yeah. I'm on it." I say a little grouchy and just walk into the bathroom and start the shower.
When I'm finished getting ready, we climb into Randy's car and make our way over to his parents. The ride is quiet but short since they didn't live much farther than from where I lived. Randy parked the car in their driveway and I couldn't help but notice that there were a few more cars than I had anticipated. I look at Randy and he smiles.
"I forgot to mention, my parents wanted to invite a couple people as well. So I just agreed with it because, well they're my parents." He says and smiles.
I swallow but nod. "Okay." Is all I say and we both hop out of the car and make our way up to the door.
Randy knocks on the door and I look down at my skirt and straighten it out and make sure my shirt doesn't have any wrinkles in it before his mom opens the door and smiles at both of us. I give a slight smile and she immediately hugs Randy then turns her attention towards me and wraps me in a hug. It catches me off guard at first, but I hug her back slightly and then she ushers us in and we all walk in to the living room where his dad and some other people were sitting.
"You made it!" His dad exclaims and stands up walking over to Randy and patting him on the shoulder. "We were for sure you were going to be late today."
"That was my fault. We had a long night last night and I just didn't want to leave the bed this morning." I say and laugh while everyone stares at me. I quickly realize how it sounded and just look down.
"She is helping a friend out with some legal stuff so I was helping her out with some research." Randy quickly covers and his dad nods.
"Well, it's nice to know that you both still take your work seriously."
"They don't call me a workaholic for nothing." I quip and sigh after I say it. This was seriously turning out way weirder than I had imagined.
"Oh where are my manners. Would you like anything to drink? Some juice, water, anything?" His dad asks.
"A mimosa would be nice." I say and smile. Once again, I'm being stared at like I just ripped someone's face off. "What?"
"My family doesn't believe in anything that alters the mind. So, we don't have anything for mimosas or anything that contains alcohol." Randy tells me quietly.
"Oh, then just water is fine." I say. "May I use your restroom?"
"Yeah, this way." Randy takes my hand and leads me down the hallway and to the bathroom.
