My week goes by quickly. Jeremy and his dad had a meeting with Sheridan and Filmore to establish the contract and it won't be signed until Eric can get his lawyer in to read it as well so we all decided it was best for us to read it all together and sign it, myself included since I'm Jeremy's lawyer for the expansion.

Jeremy and I have spent more time together, but have yet to establish any sort of relationship. I withdrew from him honestly, I want everything to stay strictly professional, and I don't like to mix personal with profession. I know he knows that's my conflict, but he still tries and I have to give him credit for that.

My lunch was coming up and since it was Friday, I had promised Opal I would treat her to lunch just because. I closed out of my computer and had grabbed my purse and walked out of my office. She was leaning on her hand sleeping and I couldn't stop from laughing. I nudged her and she jumped and shot up from her chair when she saw me.

I raise my eyebrows. "You ready for lunch?" I ask.

She yawns. "Yeah, I was just going over some stuff." I nod and she grabs her purse and we make our way out to the elevator.

When it reaches the main lobby, Jeremy is talking to the receptionist and turns when he sees me. He smiles and winks, so I give a slight smile back until I hear my name called. I turn my attention to Cam walking through the front door of the lobby and making his way to me. I stand frozen in place, staring at him. My mind is trying to find any quick route to get away but there is nothing. All I can do is let him approach me.

"Lex," he reaches me and stops. I furrow my brows and watch his every move searching for any markers that he might do something stupid. "You haven't answered my calls, you're never home anymore. I've been worried about you. Why did the police come to my house?" I continue to stare not quite sure if I should respond. "Lex." He grabs my hand and I flinch back.

"Don't touch me." I scream, the fear evident in my voice. I take a step back. "You need to leave, Cam. You can't be here." My voice is shaky and my body is betraying my mind by not running.

"Lex, don't do this." He warns, and his eyes are hard. He reaches for me again and jump back.

            "Leave, Cam."

"No, not until you tell me why you're ignoring me! Is there someone else? Is it because I pushed you? What?"

"Pushed her?" I hear Opal snap. Cam's head snaps towards her. "You bruised her face. You left bruises on her neck. You abused her you piece of shit!" Before Cam could react, Opal throws a punch and her fist collides with his nose.

He stumbles back for a moment and wipes the blood dripping from his nose. "Oh, you're going to regret that." He snarls and charges for Opal.

My mind blanks and I hurl myself in front of her to take the blow for her. Before he reaches me, I see an arm grab him and he is flipped off his feet and onto his back. I stare wide eyes for a moment as I try to process what happened. Jeremy was kneeling next to Cam, his wrist in his hand and bent so if Cam moved it would break his arm.

"Call security!" Opal yells to the receptionist and in an instant she's dialing the phone. "Alexis, you should sit down." She puts her and on my arm and I jump away. She raises her hands in surrender and I quickly apologize.

"I'm fine where I am." I whisper and she just nods.

Security comes running out and grabs Cam from the floor and Jeremy releases him. They handcuff him and take him outside. Jeremy turns to me and approaches me slowly. I look up at him and I can't help but feel the tears fill in my eyes. He grabs my hand and quickly pulls me towards the conference room and shuts the door. He locks it then shuts the blinds in the windows. I set my purse down and lean against the table for a moment.
