There was peace when Hiccup was a boy.
The largest threat was the Dragons who gradually shifted into Allies.
Then Dagur
Then Stryker
Then Viggo
Then Drago Bludvist
Then finally a moment of peace.
Valka remained restless however, claiming her Dragon sensed unease from within the archipelago.
Then the letters came from King Dagur and Queen Mala.
Letters from Outcast Island.
Letters from Beserker Island
Dragons had begun seeking shelter among us in Berk until it was more crowded than any Berkian had ever seen before in their life.
War had been waged.
Stoick having passed meant this responsibility fell on the new Chief's shoulders. Every island visited had been laid to ruin.
It was.... Worse then Hiccup could have ever imagined.
Astrid pulled Heather into an embrace asking what happened. Heather spat out blood and venom as she hissed the name
"Ikraam Merikh."
Hiccup remembered Merikh.
He had seen the large bold man and been so surprised that the large man whom he had seen snap a log in half with his bare hands had been so gentle.
Remembered that every opportunity given he'd glow discussing his wife and child.
It was always Leora this and Ivah that.
And he remembered the second and last time he ever saw Ikraam Merikh.
It was the first time in his life he had seen his father get aggressive towards someone with pity in his eyes.
Ikraam was strong, powerful and it was also the first time he thought his Father would lose a fight. Until Stoick moved pressing into a pressure point on his neck forcing Ikraam to stay still.
"I know your loss Ikraam." Stoick murmured as he pinned the other to the wall. "But mark my words I will wreak havoc down on you should you threaten the Treaties."
Ikraam yielded and never returned.
It wasn't until Hiccup was older that he learned Ikraam had lost his wife and suck out revenge on the world in a sick manner that meant more harm than good.
"Hiccup?" Astrid walked towards Hiccup who was already staring out over the sea, his eyes narrowed. "What's the plan?"
"We end this."
"Yeah and how do we do that?" Astrid looked to the Chief of Berk, who was already climbing aboard Toothless
"We hit a pressure point."
