The next time Hiccup sees land is Caldera Cay, where he already sees a group of warriors with flaming arrows pointed ready for the son of Ikraam.
"Ha! Death by flaming arrows. This will be a fun way to watch you die Merikh!" Snotlout mocks and Hiccup scowls at his friends casual way of mentioning a death he was currently working to prevent.
The goal to end the war would be to do so as least violently as possible.
Haddock would not stoop to their level unless there was absolutely no other option. And right now, with the son of Ikraam struggling from the talons of a Night Fury for the flight to Caldera Cay, there was an option.
"Toothless, don't let him escape." Hiccup commands. The second they land Ivah is pinned entirely to the floor as Toothless presses his weight to keep them pinned flat to the the floor.
Ivah let's put a grunt that makes it clear that their position is painful but Toothless does not let up nor will Hiccup tell him too. Something tells Hiccup that none of the Riders nor members of Caldera Cay will not hesitate to attack Ivah Merikh as soon as Toothless is out of the targets way.
"Well done Brother!" Dagur beams. "Now get Toothless to let him go so I can kill him myself!" He growls but halts the second a hand lands on his shoulder.
"No." Queen Mala snarls. Her eyes are puffy, as though she'd been crying heavily but her face is dry and left with nothing of grief. "I will handle him." Hiccup moves in between the two of them.
"Wait! Wait all of you please. I know how you feel but we can't kill him."
"WHAT?" Ruffnut hissed stalking "He interrupted one of our coordinations! You don't interrupt the masters!"
"He shot me in the shoulder!" Fishlegs protested.
"He killed my fanboy!" Snotlout shakes in Fury.
"He killed half of my island!" Heather gripped her axe tighter.
"He killed Throk and half my island. Why stand here and argue over who's been wronged most when we all know the criminal deserves no second chances." Queen Mala hissed pulling out a blade.
"No! This is the only heir that Ikraam has!" Hiccup stands, his stance protective. He was grateful that he kept his helmet on his head, if only to keep his uncertain expression hidden from the others. From behind him, as though the sentence incensed Ivah, a large snarl emitted from the helmet.
Ivah's snarl was silenced as Toothless let out their own rumbling threat which caused Ivah to grow silent.
"The only heir? Great. So we end the Merikh bloodline once and for all." Snotlout snorted crossing their arms but it seemed the rest of those present understood the phrase led to a Hiccup Created Plan. Thank Thor for their history.
