"Would you three get to your chores?"
"Ha! Now he sounds like my Mom!"
Flames swam around Ivah and she could hear a child laughing."Ivaah! There you are! Come on! It's time for lunch Sæta!"
Her mother?
She could feel the gentle hands on her cheek, wiping away water that must have fallen on her face.
When she focused she noticed her mothers face. The soft gentle brown eyes that looked lovingly at her and their father.
The way her brown eyes narrowed in concentration lining up the bow and flaming arrow to the targets which also simmered with flames.
"My strong little Leif, my little heir,I am so proud of you."
Amber eyes stared at her , gentle and kind, the fire within them warm and keeping her safe from the cold.
His hands were calloused as he held her own, much smaller ones in them. He shared little words, yet always brought his point across.
Then , the once gentle hands turned vicious and she was struck over and over. The pain radiating throughout her whole body.
When she turned she could see the eyes that had once flickered so warmly now were looking to viciously burn.
"You will not disappoint me!"
Then the fire was done and Ivah was ten years old all over again wandering alone in the forest.
A low growl emanated from behind them and their hands would not stop shaking. Slowly the bush rattled and Ivah turned.
Blue reptilian eyes stared at her from within the bush alongside a set of white human eyes.
"WAIT!"
Ivah shouted at the air trying to sit up and immediately choked back a strangled cry as pain coursed through their entire body.
Ivah could feel a set of hands pushing her back into the mattress. The hands were rough and as they pushed Ivah could feel them agitating wounds in their effort to subdue Ivah. Ivah clawed at the hands desperately but they were so much stronger than her.
Where was Ivah? This didn't smell like home, nor the stable where they were held prisoner so where were they?
"Calm down!" The blurred brunette figure shouted at her. "It's me Belal!"
That was a lie. Belal didn't sound like that. Belal didn't touch them like this? Didn't gently put a cup to their lips. This stranger was trying to poison her!
"LET ME GO!" Ivah choked out pushing at the figure and heard a cup of something clatter to the floor with a splash.
Then the figure called out, "My Hersir please!" And Ivah froze facing the blurry figure. They fought through the haze trying to see but instead found it that much more difficult to focus with the plethora of colors flooding through their vision. "I'm going to give you something to drink so that you feel better."
