"Uh... that's a weird fear response."

"It could be weirder. They could start singing."

Ivah ran through the forest as quickly as she could

Ivah ran through the forest as quickly as she could. Hands tied behind her back would indeed be a hindrance but she couldn't remain captured. She had to make it back to her troop. Hopefully before they even reached Acerbi.

Make it back to their troop and prove Ivah's capability or who knew what Ikraam would do to Ivah...

Not to mention Belal. Belal was talented and skilled but that wasn't his job. It was hers.

What danger had Ivah put Belal under when they had shown their incompetence in allowing themselves to be kidnapped? Would Belal forgive them for this?

"Come on Toothless! Let's go!" She could hear the Chief of Berk shout to his dragon and briefly wondered if he'd change his "Don't kill Ivah." policy now.

A strange kindness Ivah didn't understand and didn't deserve.

Ivah briefly fought the urge to dive into a cave and use it as her method of hiding.

She didn't know much about the Night Fury but if the Deadly Nadder had the ability to track then what meant that the Night Fury didn't.

Ivah glanced over their shoulder when they tripped and before they could stop themselves went rolling down the hill, the branches scratching against their arms and with their arms tied behind their back there was no way for them to actually stop themselves from their momentum until they crashed into a tree and lost momentum.

Thank Hel.

Against their better judgment Ivah leaned against the tree, panting and shutting their eyes shut. Their arms burned, still tied firmly behind their back and her leg stung, albeit less thanks to the Chief of Berk deciding to play nurse to her.

Again a strange kindness he shouldn't have.

"Surprise."

Ivah tried to run again at the sight of the Chief of Berk but he pulled her back sharply.

"I was going to try to be nice but of course you chose to go the hard way." The tone was light, airy, like someone messing around but the hand pinning her to the tree and the blade pressed against her throat warned her well and clear that the Chief of Berk was quite serious. "Now here's what's going to happen. We're going to go back , you're going to walk since you're so eager to use those legs of yours and we're not going to breathe a word of your escape to anyone. Understand?"

Ivah didn't say anything. There was no need.

She understood his threat and strangely knew the main reason for this was in favor of her own safety.

"I said do you understand?" He growled pressing the knife deeper and at the sting and small warmth that fell down her neck she knew he had cut her skin.
