𝐀 𝐊𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐀 𝐏𝐎𝐆𝐔𝐄, 𝗋𝖺𝖿𝖾 𝖼𝖺𝗆𝖾𝗋𝗈𝗇

4: "𝚜𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚘𝚗𝚎 𝚘𝚗 𝚖𝚢 𝚜𝚒𝚍𝚎!"

Heavy rain could be heard all around the Outer Banks, the occasional loud rumble of thunder happening every few minutes that went by, the flash of lightning following the noise as a small mini rainstorm was on the island. The dirt all around on the ground was turning into mud as the water drops continued to fall down from the night sky and onto the island, the rain slamming against the roofs of the buildings and the roofs and windows of the vehicles that were either driving by or parked on the side of the road. Some people could be seen running along the sidewalks as they tried to get home to their families, some having umbrellas so they wouldn't get wet.

On a roof, hiding on it near a construction site, the four teenagers could be seen there as they peaked out. Just across from them on the construction site, Ward and Gavin could be seen speaking to one another. As they had been following after Gavin, Pope had gotten his telephoto, a camera, so he'd be able to record them so they would actually have evidence this time of Ward doing something. Y/n continuously was moving her hair out of her face as her wet strands stuck to her face from the rain.

"Ward just handed Gavin something. I think it's a duffel bag." Pope observes, continuing to record.

"Guys, I think this is a payoff." JJ states.

"Gavin doesn't look happy about something. It looks like he's yelling at Ward." Pope points out.

"Why?" Kie asks.

Pope shrugs. "I don't know, but he sure looks mad."

Not saying anything else, the group of four all look forward and back where the two men were at as Gavin seemed to be getting angrier by the second, which only caused Ward to become angry. Next thing the teenagers knew, both men were fighting one another, slightly surprising the group. The two men were sending punches to one another as Ward seemed to be winning before the rich man was throwing Gavin against a table, causing his head to slam against the rim before he falls onto his knees. Y/n found her hands squeezing against the rim of the roof they were peaking from as she watches Gavin clutch his head, blood gushing out. Ward doesn't seem to care as he dives down towards Gavin, quickly grabbing the gun in his pocket.

"Holy shit." Pope curses. "Ward's got a gun."

"I bet that's the murder weapon." Kie states.

They keep their eyes on the two men as they watch Ward, who seemed to be speaking to Gavin before he stood up and began walking off. However, as Gavin stood up, Ward stopped in his tracks and turned around and the next thing the group knew, two gunshots rang through the air as the bullets hit right at Gavin, causing the teenagers to gasp while they ducked down and hid behind the wall they had been peaking from. Clutching a bit of her hair with a shaky hand, Y/n lets out a shaky breath as she stares at the concrete roof they were on with wide eyes, clearly shaken up. Slowly, Pope was peaking back out, holding up his telephoto to get some more recorded.

"Tell me you just got that." Y/n pleads.

Pope nods. "Enough to put this asshole away for life."

The other three slowly peak back up from the wall, seeing Gavin now laying lifeless as Ward was looking over the edge, looking for the gun that had fallen. When he looked in their direction, they were all quick to duck down before he was running off, grabbing the bag and rushing down to look for the gun. They watched as he knelt by a drain as Pope told the three that the gun fell down into the drain. Just then, Kie fully stands up, making the other three all look at her as she ignores their questions.

"What is wrong with you? Murderer!" Kie shouts.

Being as quick as she could, Y/n frantically stood up and wrapped her hand around the brunette's mouth before pulling her back down behind the sign they were hiding behind as she had been beside the Carrera girl. Kiara, however, continued to shout as her voice was muffled by the Heyward girl's hand, squirming in her arms while she was doing so.
