The sky was a bright yellow in the distance as the sun was slowly beginning to set in OBX, cars being seen parked on the ferry as they traveled somewhere, the group of four traveling to Charleston after reading the letter in the building of their school in the usual quiet library.

The chirps of the seagulls could be heard all around as the said animals flew above the moving ocean waves, adding to the many other sounds from the civilians on the large island and the occasional loud and echoing horn that was coming from the ferry. The wind was occasionally blowing by, causing people's hair to move in the direction it was blowing in.

On the ferry, vehicles could be seen parked on their own spots with people sitting inside. Meanwhile, the group of four could be seen around the truck the Heyward siblings had stolen from their father. Y/n found herself sitting across from Kiara, Pope standing beside the vehicle to his sister's left while JJ sat on the roof, rolling a blunt in between his fingers.

Pope had his dark eyes trained on the letter he had received, brows deeply furrowed while he kept reading the words over and over again in his head as the other three were currently speaking to each other, not noticing the expression he held as if there was something deep within his mind at the moment.

"My parents are so paranoid of me being a Pogue, like it's the worst thing that could ever happen." Kie states.

"Hey, I hear they got good weed at boarding school, though." JJ comments, trying to lighten the mood.

"I'm not going to boarding school." Kie protests while shaking her head. "They're gonna have to kidnap me, tie me up, and throw me in a van."

"Hey, Kie, have you tried to hit John B back on that number yet?" Y/n asks.

Kie nods, shrugging. "Like, twenty million times. Some random lady at a hotel keeps answering."

"Well, until we hear from them again, we gotta try and clear his name." Pope reminds, holding up the letter. "Right now, this letter's our best bet."

Sounds could be heard all around on the island as vehicles were being honked at one another, followed by the occasional chatters of the citizens that could be heard all around on the streets in Charleston and the wind that was blowing by every couple seconds, sometimes a minute, or so within the cool air.

The sun hadn't gone down yet as the brightness of it was still shining down on the many people on the many islands in the certain country, the evening continuing to come out while the sun had kept slowly moving down so the moonlight could replace the bright yellow star that always laid high up in the sky.

The group of teenagers now found themselves back inside the truck after they had left the ferry once they made it to Charleston. Y/n could be seen sitting in between Kie and her brother, back leaning against the seats while she and JJ were looking over Kie's shoulders, the said Carrera girl rereading the words on the letter that she held in her hands.

Pope was back in the driver's seat, hands resting on the wheel while his foot was slightly pressed down on the gas as he drove along the concrete road while they all sat along in a line at the only seats inside of the Heyward twins' truck.

"Guys, I've read this thing like a thousand times. It makes no sense." Kie tells them with a sigh. "I mean, the Limbreys own, like, half of Charleston. What do the Kook kings of Charleston know about a murder on Kildare island?"

"Why you specifically?" JJ questions, glancing at Pope. "That's the other creepy thing."

"'Please come alone'." Y/n reads, pointing at the said words. "That's hella sus."
