Sunny opened his monochrome eyes

Staring back to him was the Dull, blank ceiling. It was silent, just like normal, he secretly hoped yesterday was just a fever dream. Sunny sat up in his bed, not wanting to get out. But alas, he did, rubbing his eyes as he lazily walked to the door.

As Sunny approached the door he felt a sharp pain in his foot, a strange noise was heard. Sunny looked down to find his light bulb broke and shattered on the floor, it must've been knocked down by something last night?

Not wanting to deal with this, he put a black sock on the injured foot, inside out as that was always more comfortable. And that was that, Sunny was good to go. Without skipping a beat, he got out of his room and walked down the steps of the stairs [With extreme caution of course!].

Sunny found his mom watching TV, with a plate of some Watermelon slices. She then noticed him staring at her with his usual bored gaze.

"Oh! Sunny your up early! Usually i have to get you to wake up."

The mother exclaimed, she was caught off guard by her son for the first time in a long while.

"..."

"Are you hungry? I sliced up some watermelon in the kitchen, it's alittle on the mushy side but it's overall good!"

".."

Sunny nodded and walked to the kitchen seeing some watermelon slices on a cutting board. Sunny took the knife then Taking the smallest one, he cut a smaller piece, and takes a bite. The taste of old summer fun filled his mouth.

Good memories they'd made, but as quickly as he remembered he had forgotten them, it'd been awhile since Sunny had a Watermelon. after a few minutes, Sunny's mom had come into the kitchen doorway.

"Hey Sunnn',  I'ma go upstairs and do some laundry okay? If you need anything let me know, okayyy?"

She spoke with a smile, Sunny nodded, as he looked to the side. She walked away, and Sunny went back to cherishing the taste of Watermelon. But after a few minutes of doing this, there was another noise at the door.

He got up and walked to the door, since his mother was upstairs Sunny decided he'd open the door, putting the knife in his pocket. As soon as the door opened, Sunny was grabbed by the arm and pulled outside. To stunned to do anything for a few seconds, Sunny felt the sun on his skin for the first time in ages. As quickly as he felt it, He pulled back into the shade, looking at the punk who pulled him.

'who'd have the audacity?!'

Sunny thought quite annoyed, but there was only one person he knew that would do such a thing.

                    Ah yes. Of course.

                 The one and only Kel.

'Had he already got Aubrey to say yes?'
After gathering his, Sunny realized Kel had been trying to talk to him

"SUNNY CMONNNNNN, We Gotta Go!!"

"W-What are you even talking about?.."

"Aubrey said she'd do it if i proved you said yes, SO CMON!"

Sunny put his hand on his forehead as he looked down for a moment. He couldn't help but feel annoyed at this, but at the same time.. he felt weird.. it was a very courageous thing for Kel to do so he couldn't help but feel in awe about it?
So Sunny wasn't as angry as he thought he'd be, actually he wasn't angry at all. He raised his head back up at Kel who was still smiling like a doofus, as always.
