Dylan's POV

"Wow! I'm shocked at you Dylan! Good job! I'm not surprised by you though, Naomi." Mrs. Hardly said as she handed us both our tests.

We both got perfect scores. I looked up to see Naomi already looking at me with that 'you son of a bitch' look. All I did was smirk, letting a little chuckle slip from my lips.

Naomi's face then went blank as she turned her head from me. What did I do?

She was quiet the rest of class. I mean she's always quiet but this was a different type of quiet. I felt the aura of her silence and even blind man could tell she was in deep thought.

I didn't realize that I was staring at her till our eyes made contact.

"Would you quit burning wholes in my head?" she yelled but whispered.

"My bad." I whispered back. I wanted to say more but, a feeling stopped me.

I couldn't get attached. We just met. I CAN'T get emotionally attached to her. I'm in too much shit to bring anyone into.

Suddenly, I heard me phone ding. I pick it up and see I've gotten a text from my dad.

-meet me at the front office of the school.

Why the hell is he at the school?

I ignore the questions running through my mind as I head to the office, not bothering to tell the teacher why I left in the middle of her class. While I was walking down the hallway, I caught a glimpse of one of the girls that were fighting with Naomi last week.

Our eyes connected and when they did, the girl's eyes widened in shock before she turned a corner and walked down that hallway. They were obviously avoiding me and that's exactly what I wanted. I didn't want them messing with Naomi. Not even coming into sight with her.

I hate how protective I am over her in such a small matter of time, but my mind won't let me not protect her.

I finally reached the office but I went straight to my uncle's room. I opened the door and unsurprisingly, my dad was sitting across from my uncle's desk.

"Why couldn't you just call me?" I asked my dad before shutting the door.

"Because it's too dangerous to say over the phone. We don't know what he's been doing lately. We never know when he's listening." my dad responded with a little urgency in his tone. My dad's pretty much a brick wall so whatever Salo's planning better be worth his worry.

"What is it?" I ask.

My uncle and dad share a look before their eyes both return to me.

You have a new mission." my dad said.

"Okay? Why couldn't you tell me this over the phone?" I ask again.

"Well, it was better if you saw this in person." dad said before snapping his fingers.

When he did, two of our guards came into the room. They were dressed in casual clothes so they wouldn't draw attention in suits. But I saw someone behind them. When they let them in, it was hard for shock to not form on my face.

"What the hell is she doing here?" I question my dad with a little irritation in my voice.

"We've decided to make her apart of our mission." he responded.

"Why?"

"Because we've done some digging on her and we believe she has some dirt on him that can help us get rid of him once and for all. She also knows some of his plan. With her, we can take him out before he sees it coming."

"So lock her in a secure basement. Why bring her to a public school?!" I question with frustration bubbling in my tone.

"We can't keep her in one place because he would track her. So, we've decided to bring her here. And she'll be under your protection."

I groan escapes my lips as I take another look at her. Her out of all people.

"Well, I don't have a choice so how will this go?"

"She'll have all the same classes as you. Y'all will have to stay together at all times. We know he has eyes and ears everywhere. Once his spies find out you both go here, their most likely going to come after you."

"And you're going to allow it?"

"That's how the plan will go. I'm not going to get into detail but you two are the main part of the mission."

"You mean we're bait." I state simply with a little anger in my tone.

"Dad, I've been training with guns and knifes basically my whole life. I've learned from the most violent, swiftest people in China and you're going to tell me that I'm just bait?!" I ask.

"Now liste-"

"NO! FUCK THIS MISSION! I've done all you've asked for years since I was a kid! I'VE TAKEN LIVES! I'm not going to just walk around like a baby lion waiting for the hyena to pounce on me! I've fought many battles only for me to be the bait for the biggest one that comes down to life or death INCLUDING our whole organization?! FUCK NO!"

"Now wait a damn minute. Don't you ever, FUCKING EVER, raise your voice at me." My dad said as he stood up and got in my face till were inches apart.

"Your job is what I SAY it is. You've been doing it your whole life and you will CONTINUE to. So if I tell you that you are going to protect her with YOUR LIFE...YOU. WILL. DO. IT." he yells, anger swirling through his eyes.

"Once the school day is over, you will bring her to our home. That's where she will stay. Under OUR protection." he says before leaving the room, the two guards following behind him.

I take a few minutes to process the whole ordeal. This bitch. Out of all people. I curse under my breath before walking towards the door.

"Dyl-" my uncle starts but I cut him off.

"I don't want to hear it." I say as I walk out the door. As I do, I hear the girl following behind me.

"You know, I agree with your dad one-hundred percent!" she says in a sweet tone. She's faker than the plastic in her chest.

I stop before turning around looking at her. I stare her down before stalking towards her, causing her to back up a bit.

"That is a hundred percent bull shit!" I seethe out before getting in her face, just as close as my dad did to me.

"You won't say anything or attract any attention do you understand me? I'm in charge, here." I rhetorically ask her.

She nods.

"With words! Do you under-fucking-stand me?!" I ask once more raising my voice.

"Yes." she says quietly.

I back away from her as we exit the office and head towards my third period. I hated doing this to Naomi. She was going to be pissed.

I'm more afraid for her to be mad at me then anything else.

Naomi's POV

It's been 20, almost 30 minutes since Dylan left the classroom. What did that message say? Did he leave the school?

Fuck my brain for all these damn questions.

Just then, the door opens. Dylan walks through and I release a breath I didn't know I was holding.

Why oh why does he have to have this affect on me. I hate it. I'm not letting it grow. I'll do whatever it takes for it not to.

My calmness for Dylan returning soon turned into a loathing anger that I didn't think was possible.

WHAT THE FUCK IS HE DOING WITH THIS BITCH?!

"Oh, I just got an email from the principal telling me you would be joining this class. So many new students lately." Mrs. Hardly says as she stands up and goes towards Dylan and the bitch beside him.

"Class, we have another new student joining us. I would like to introduce our new student- Elisabeth Estrada. Or well, she likes to just go by Lisa."
