Naomi's POV
After the kiss, Dylan and I have been debating on what to call us. We're definitely not friends anymore, but we're not sure about a relationship. We haven't talked about it much. I guess both of us aren't ready to confront how we feel yet.
I know I like him. He's been having me feel some type of way since the day I met him; I was just trying to hide my feelings and push him away. I was scared of heartbreak, and still am.
I was walking down the hallway in school, with Dylan by my side. We were getting stares from a lot of people but we didn't mind. The school day was almost over and Dylan was walking me to my Spanish class. Even though I've told him I can get there on my own, he thinks otherwise.
He's been overprotective lately. After the attack at my house, he hasn't let me leave his sight. He's had AJ act like a new student in all of my classes when he can't be in them. And after class, he's already waiting outside my classroom for me. He walks me to every class, and doesn't let me leave the school without him knowing.
I've been staying at his house since the attack. My parents are still on their business trips and won't be back for a while. And I'm glad. I don't want them in any type of danger. They've called me everyday to check up on me, telling me that they hate being away from me for so long but I've reassured them every time that I'm safe.
I know I'm safe when I'm with Dylan. I know he'd take a bullet for me even if I would say otherwise. He basically did when he got shot in the arm.
He's been training me on how to use a gun has been teaching me all type of martial arts. Surprisingly, I'm pretty good at it. I've got a nick for it I guess. It's quite fun to be honest.
We had finally reached my Spanish class. We stopped outside the door to talk like we've been doing everyday so far.
"AJ's already waiting for you inside." he reminds me for what felt like the umpteenth time.
"Yeah yeah, I know." I say with a roll of my eyes.
He then reaches up and moves a piece of my curly strands of hair out my face before tucking it behind my ear. I no longer where my hoodie over my head as much as I used to because Dylan says my hair is beautiful and should be out more often.
Once he moves my hair, he keeps his hand resting on my cheek for sometime before leaning in and kissing my forehead. I feel warmth spread in my chest and cheeks but I'm glad my dark skin covers it.
"I'll see you after class." he says. I nod with a small cheeky smile on my face, looking anywhere but his eyes.
He arches his finger and moves my chin so my eyes then connect with his.
"With your words, Gōngzhǔ." he tells me. He's been calling my princess lately too and it's been having me feeling some type of way that make me all blushy and shit. Got me in my feelings and for what?
"See you after class." I say quickly before rushing into the room. I hear him chuckle before walking off. I look in the corner of the room and see AJ sitting on his phone. He looks up and sees me before waving, showing his pearly whites. I wave back with a small smile before sitting down at my seat.
Right after I sit, I hear my name called.
"Hey, Naomi!" the voice says. I look to my left and see Maria.
"Oh, hey Maria." I reply.
"I was just wondering if you wanted to go get some ice cream with me after school." she offers.
I small smile sets on my face. Why not?
"Sure." I agree. Her face lights up.
"Great! Mateo is going to drive us." she informs me.
I nod just as the teacher starts beginning to talk. The room quiets down as we focus in on the lesson. Once the class is over, I begin to walk out but Maria decides to join me.
"I'm excited! I've always wondered what American ice cream tastes like!" she says with joy, her thick Colombian accent shining through. Once we get outside the classroom, there's Dylan. He's resting against the wall staring at his phone.
Once he sees that I've walked out, a smile stretches across his face before he puts his phone away and walks up to me.
"Ready?" he asks.
"Yeah." I say before turning to Maria.
"I'll see you later." I tell her.
"Kk!" she says before walking off, a weird knowing smirk on her face.
Just before we begin to walk off, AJ catches up to us. He's been trying to keep a low profile but hasn't succeeded yet. He's attracted quite some attention with his looks and glowing dark skin. Now all girls do is gawk at the two hunks standing to my left and right.
"Who was that, Naomi?" AJ asks curiously.
"Oh just a new foreign exchange student named Maria." I explain.
He seems to ponder my answer before nodding. I smirk settles on my face.
"Why? You into her or something?" I say with a knowing look while eyeing him.
"Nah just wondering." he says while looking away.
"Mhhmmm." I hum before looking at Dylan. He has that knowing look on his face too.
We continue walking down the hallway, heading towards our next class. Of course, Dylan and AJ attract a lot of unwanted attention. I mentally roll my eyes and continue down the hallway. Even though they get looks, they make nothing of it. Like everyone's minding their business even when it's the complete opposite.
We finally reach my class, in which AJ walks right in, giving me and Dylan some privacy.
"I forgot to tell you. Maria wants to get ice cream with me after school." I inform him.
"Okay, I'll take you." he says.
"Actually, Mateo was going to take us." I let him know. His eyebrow instantly arches.
"Mateo? Why can't I take you?" he questions with a bit of attitude in his tone, straightening his posture.
"I never said you couldn't. Maria just told me that he would be taking us." I explain to him.
"I'll take you and we can meet them there." he finalized before walking away, not giving me time respond. I just watched him walk away, a little dumbfounded and shocked.
What's his issue?
