"Be careful with your next choice of words, Lisa." Dylan said as he raised his gun at her, aiming it right at her head.
Fear quickly flashed through Lisa's face before it was replaced with a knowing smirk. She then began to chuckle.
"What's funny bitch?" I questioned.
"I just think it's hilarious that you think you can kill me." she said with a a shake of her head. AJ and Dylan exchanged looks while I stared Lisa down.
"What are you talking about?" I say stepping towards her a bit.
"You can't kill me. Well actually, go right on ahead. You can if you want to but I just don't recommend it." she continued with a sly grin on her face, showing a bit of her teeth. Something wasn't right here. There was something she definitely wasn't telling us.
"If you kill me, you're basically just killing yourself and everyone around you. Your friends, your mafia, your family," she paused in quick thought. "Or whatever's left of it." she said towards Dylan, then took a quick look at me.
Before I could even process what she said, the back of Dylan's gun slammed into Lisa's head, knocking her unconscious. I stared at Lisa's slumped and bleeding head in shock. I looked at AJ, who had the same amount of shock plastered on his face, and then looked at Dylan. Who was now fuming.
His grip was so tight on the gun, his whole arm looked like it was about to burst. The room was dead silent, all you could hear was the heavy raged breaths coming from Dylan.
I went up in front of him, trying to let our eyes connect but he refused. I reached out and grabbed the gun from his hand slowly. At first his grip wouldn't let up, but until I said, "It's okay.", did he let his hand fall to his side.
His eyes were staring down, like seeing everything all at once was right below him. I raised my free hand up to him and applied it to his cheek. Not even a second in, he backed away from my touch and left.
AJ and I exchanged looks, both knowing what I had to do. I quickly ran after Dylan while AJ locked up Lisa's cell. Once I had left the dungeon, I darted to Dylan's room, thinking that would be where he was.
Once I reached the room, I called out his name, only to get silence in response. I left the room, seeing it was empty and started searching in every room.
It felt like I had been searching for about an hour and still came up with nothing. I went downstairs and sat on a couch in the living room, letting my hands grasp my head from the headache that started to churn in my head.
"Still can't find him?" AJ said as he walked in and sat across from me.
"Nope." I responded. I don't know where else he could be. All of his cars are still here so I know he didn't leave.
"Did you check the garden?" AJ questioned.
"Garden?" I asked. I didn't know his house had a garden.
"Yeah. It was his mother's garden. Everyday, him and his mom would go out and water the plants she would grow." AJ continued.
"Thank you." I say before darting towards the back door.
When I reached the backyard, I looked around, but there was still no sign of him. I was about to yell back in the house to AJ that he wasn't there until something caught my eye.
A trail. Hidden in the forest about 100 feet away from where I was standing. Dylan was pretty rich, so his backyard looked rich. With a big pool decorated to perfection along with a fire pit and beautiful cushioned brown chairs. Rich people be like.
