Dylan's POV
"He's planning to attack soon. I know it. Start getting info from Lisa. Update me when you have intel." my dad told me before hanging up.
I sigh as I drop my phone on the bed. I've never had the best relationship with my dad. It's not really a father- son relationship. It feels more like employer- employee type relationship. And I have no choice but to do what he says. But even though he doesn't act like a father, I know when it comes down to it, he would protect me with his life, down to his dying breath.
It's all about his legacy. He used to not care about that type of stuff and actually treated my like his son. But ever since my mom died, he turned cold and now our relationship is like this.
I look at my phone before looking at the ceiling. Then a flash of Naomi filled my mind. Guilt suddenly took over me.
I missed her. More than I'd like to admit. The words I told her pained for me to stay but I can't let her know. I'd rather her hate me than bring her into this life. A life that's not even living- just not dying.
Suddenly, there was a knock on my door. I groan as to say come in. When the door opens, it's Lisa. She comes in with her head bent down and nervousness being the only emotion on her face.
"What do you want?" I ask her.
"I came to talk to you about Salo. He'll probably be planning to attack soon so I should give you some information about what's going on." she proposes.
I raise an eyebrow at her willing to talk but sit up to listen to what she has to say.
"Talk." I order her.
"Well, I don't know much of his plan, but I know Salo wants you dead." she begins.
I expected so. Wanting to end my father's legacy has been all of his enemies one goal.
"Okay. Now tell me something I don't know." I tell her.
"He's going to add new people in the game. To distract you. To get your mind off of what's to come. I just know y'all need to prepare, or you won't be ready." she continues.
"You're telling me things that are already obvious. Give me information that I can use to be ready for him!" I say in frustration.
"That's all I know for now." she says in a small voice.
"Then why are you in here? The info you have given me is useless!" I raise my voice as I leave my bed and walk up to her.
She begins to back up until she's against the door. I come towards her till we're a foot apart.
"Come to me again with useless information and I'll lock you in the cellar downstairs." I threaten her, staring her down.
She gulps but nods in understanding.
"Get out." I order before turning around and laying back on my bed.
By the time I got comfortable, she's already gone.
I have no doubt that Salo's plan will cause an uprising with all the mobs around the world. We have strong allies but I know he does also. But lately he's been quiet. And not that he's silently preparing for this upcoming war but silent as in not even telling his closest allies his plan.
I think he knows what we have in mind and I know that when it all comes down to it, I'll be fighting to my death.
