The three menacing dragons circled across the arena, pushing us towards the center. Back to back. These three had eyes with an intent to kill. They were about our size, maybe our age even, and would soon uncover their different personalities in the form of skills. One strikingly yellow female, covered in black speckles, had the unbelievable ability to shoot small electric pulses through the air.
Never had I ever seen something like it before, and it wouldn't last long until I had received a blow. The pain was something entirely different, nothing like a cut or a bruise.
I...I can't feel my legs...
It had immobilized me temporarily, and made my vision hazy. Through my disoriented view, I caught a glimpse of the second dragon. A glimpse of a silvery shadow, moving among us with an unmatched stealth. He possessed the most impressive camouflage; when moving about, light would bounce from his plates, and would at some points almost look invisible. Sunlight seemed to flow right through him like water. He was really hard to spot, and an even harder target. When standing still the silvery plates would give off a shimmering holographic shine. These two remarkable dragons had taken the lead, and were circling around me and Skyfall, who had had to retreat into a defensive position. Amongst the chaos I searched for the third dragon. Within the gap between my wings, I peeked and saw far in the distance the third opponent. A dark figure, observing the operation from afar.
Black... with red spots!
I was immediately taken back by how much he resembled me. The coloration, the spots, we even shared a similar mane! Only that his red one was upright, and mine was blue and wavy. The major physical difference was his horns, with mine bending back from my skull and his protruding forward. Discounting this, we looked eerily much the same. His calm demeanor and heavy physique insinuated that he was the leader of their group. He commanded what, when and how they would perform an attack, and they did exactly as he said.
"Blue!" William yelled to get my attention. I was taken back. "What?" I asked. "Skyfall!" He shouted, dragging my hair to her direction. She was fighting the silver dragon, but couldn't bring about a single significant hit. He was fast and agile, and his body covered in robust plates. I had to do something, but the electric dragon was chasing me down. I felt my pulse rise, a panic beginning to take hold. I needed to act right this instance. "Hold on tightly, William," I said. I turned abruptly to the yellow dragon, striking her with my open left palm and curved claws. It connected to her neck, slicing and creating four wounds which quickly were submerged with blood. She was caught off guard, shocked as her golden skin turned dark red. I flew away from her. She didn't have the energy to follow me, but she did have one thing; her electric powers. I didn't realize what had happened until it hit me, and my wings instantly stopped responding. It was a moment of terror as I, suspended in the air, lost the ability to move my body. I braced for impact and fell down, approximately four meters, to the sand which felt like jagged rocks against my skin. I was unable to move the following seconds, with my entire body wrestling in pain. Through the chaos and infuriating pain, I thought one thing;
William!
I tried to call for him, but my throat was numb, and I could not move. All my efforts only manifested into groans, and I suffered in silence. William? Skyfall! The electric pulses lingered and burned my sore body. This pain was new. I could only watch as Skyfall received slash after slash by the silver dragon. Was it over? I looked up to the dark sky where gray clouds had replaced the daylight. Clouds. Darkness. Lightning. Rain. We had a storm right upon us. I felt my energy disappear, and my eyelids getting heavier. I tuned out and forgot my surroundings. The last thing I saw was their leader in front of me.... ----------------------------------------------
Once again I am sorry for the late update, I've been busy with school but also art! I want every chapter to have a piece of art to go along with it <3
