Rublevka, Moscow

Monday.

. . .

I drove into our private parking garage and headed to the elevators, eager to hear what Nathaniel wants to say that's so important.

I'm also thrilled to tell them about the girl I found.

I climb the stairs to the second floor where our offices are held. I head to the one in the middle, Ronan's office, and find the two already seated and in a heated conversation that they don't even spare a glance my way.

"I really believe it's her Ronan. When I walked in and saw her, it's as if my whole world stopped. I couldn't believe that I was staring at the most beautiful human being in this world and my God her voice was so soft and sweet." he explains as I pour us a glass of whisky at the bar in the corner of Ronan's office.

"Did you find out her name?" he questions Nathan.

"Mila Baranov." he responds and Ronan as I freeze at the name.

"Would that not be the daughter of Lev and Alina Baranov?" Ronan questions.

"They never had kids, Ronan." he explains. Standing up and walking to the window.

"Just get Valentino to do a background check on her and get him to interview the maids of Lev to see if he can figure out something that only they'll know." He instructs and Nathan takes out his phone to call Valentino when he asks me a question,

"What did you want to discuss with us?" he says, turning around to face us as he leans against the wall, crossing his legs.

"The same as Nathan but I only have a picture of her, nobody wanted to tell me her name. I think they were too suspicious of me." I explain chuckling as I pull out the picture.

Remembering as she sat there, biting her lip as she concentrated on her iPad, her glasses slipping down her nose. Looking like a goddess in her simple but appealing outfit.

"No shit!" he laughs in disbelief, gulping down the whisky.

"That's our Mila." he says as Ronan takes the picture from me.

He studies it for a moment and then looks up. "I've got to see her for myself."

"I'll follow her after class ends because the last class of the day is mine so I'll go afterwards. Hopefully see where she goes. We should have her file done by Wednesday if Valentino makes this his priority." he says smiling.

"You know what other courses she takes. Because she might have a class with me." I ask to which he shakes his head.

"We'll find out tomorrow."

For a few moments, we sat in silence, each lost in their own thoughts.

All of us centered around one small and beautiful girl.

. . .

"Hey dad, no it's fine. I'm just trying to find my class. You sure, okay chat later. Bye." I hear a soft and gentle voice speak.

Turning around, I look up from my phone and see her. Our Mila. I sent a quick text to our group chat, saying I found her.

Walking up to her, I check our surroundings before placing my hand gently on her shoulder. Which sends this weird feeling through my body.

"May I ask what class you're looking for? I may be able to help you find it." I offer.

She turns around again and freezes when she sees me.

"Y-You're the guy from the cafe. What are you doing h-here?" she stutters, taking a step back.

I frown at the thought of scaring her. "Love, I've never met you before. You might be mistaken for someone else." I lie trying to ease her nerves.

"I- okay. I'm sorry." she apologises, biting her lip.

I clench my fists to stop myself from pulling her lip from her teeth.

"I'm looking for room 453A. I can't find it on the map." she explains, blushing when she makes eye contact with me.

"Ah, what a coincidence. That happens to be my class. Follow me, we got to be quick though as we're already five minutes late." I say as I glance down to my watch.

"I'm sorry sir, I didn't mean to make you late." She says looking anywhere but me.

"It's okay love. I decide when I want to pitch up anyways." I try calming her down as I grip her chin gently.

Turning around I guide us to the classroom and look behind me to check if she's following me. Pleased when I see she is.

God, when have I ever been so kind and gentle? I can't let anyone see us like this. Luckily the halls were already empty.

A quick four minute walk and we're there.

"You go in so far. I just need to grab a few notes." I explain not wanting to go in together in case someone thinks there's something going on between us.

A few minutes later I walk into the class as the room falls silent, and see her sitting in the center of the front row with her gaze down on her notebook.

"I apologise for my tardiness but I had a meeting this morning. Right so, welcome to English 3500. I am Dr Hidalgo. This semester you are going to be learning about strong written and oral communication, including the ability to construct an argument and analytical skills. I am the head of the English Department here at Moscow State. We will be going into the ability to weigh up and assess different perspectives, theories and interpretations." I explain, rolling up the sleeves of my button down shirt watching as Mila stares at my tattoos and then crosses her legs. Smirking, I carry on with the lesson.
