NIS Headquarters, Seoul..

Something was definitely not right. I pressed the refresh option on my hacking PC for the fifth time now, but the page refreshed to display the same message. Did Taehyung lose his mind? Or is this some kind of a practical joke? But I have known him long enough now to know that he's not the man to fool around during a critical work like this.

Having no other choice left, I picked up my pager and typed out a shorthand message for Mr. Namjoon.

Rcvd KT's msg;smthg gone wrng,need ur help immdtly. -Y/N

He came over sooner than I expected. His reaction was the same as mine. "This can't be", he said looking perplexed, " Are you sure that you interpreted the code right? "

"It's the machine who interprets, Sir and I have re-checked my program for a hella number of times".

Mr. Namjoon didn't reply. His gaze was fixed onto the LCD screen which displayed Taehyung's message:

" I'm not in danger,
         I'm the danger".

"The only feasible explanation", remarked Mr. Namjoon, " Could be that Taehyung's in some kind of danger. Maybe, he suspects that his messages are being tapped? "

"But Sir, then why would he send a message clearly indicating that he's not in danger? Wouldn't it be more logical for him to not send any message in case he really feels insecure? ", I intervened.

" That makes it all the more suspicious. I think we should wait for Taehyung's next message before jumping into any conclusions", he said.

I agreed, finding no other solution to this unexpected turn of events.

Little did I know that far away, in the vast, arable land of events, the seed of a fatal tragedy was being sown, which, when consumed, would destroy us to an extent yet unknown....

Taehyung's POV

Something is definitely wrong. I wondered why Y/N didn't reply to the message I sent her yesterday, especially when it was the most important message that I had sent her in a while.

It's been five days since I came over to Mr. Hoon's residence, and not a single day  passed without Y/N replying me back. The day before yesterday, I sent Y/N, a photocopy of the documents which I assumed to be the ones we were looking for, so that she could tell me the program to hack them. She did send me one, with which I could successfully hack the documents to reveal results that shocked me to a great extent.
Mr. Namjoon was right.

The documents contained the written transactions between Mr. Hoon and some of the country's leading private companies. Mr. Hoon was involved in taking bribes. The bribes amounted to huge sums and it would definitely put Mr. Hoon's liability for being the next President in question, had it not been for Y/N capricious action of not replying to the message I sent her. I had clearly mentioned in my last message about my discoveries, asking for instructions for my next actions.

Yet there was no reply.

As I pondered upon what could be the possible source of disturbance, an unnerving yet convincing thought dawned upon me.

Did They already know?
