Taehyung's POV

I flicked open my eyes as the bright light hit my dilated pupils, only to find myself in a large, spacious room lit by the sunlight entering in through a gaping balcony door. I stared blankly, my brain not quite adjusting to the sudden change from the dark, musty environment to this well lit, bare room. I noticed, however, that my wrists and ankles were still bound, as I sat prepped against the plaster-less wall.

In a moment the images of being knocked down unconscious a few moments, maybe days ago, flashed across my mind. Why did he bring me here?

Maybe today's the day he's going to kill me? The place seemed quite secluded and serene, probably situated somewhere near the outskirts. Perfect place to hide dead bodies.

After how long I don't remember, I heard an indistinguishable shuffling, sounding a lot like quick, soft footsteps. However, I saw no one enter the room from the balcony door nor  from the other, at the back of the room.

A good while later however, I heard more distinct footsteps and at the next moment the feet and their owner entered the room. I looked up at Jungkook. His eyes were glittering, as if reflecting the fire of revenge, passion and hate, which threatened to kindle my existence into ashes by its flames. His lips were slightly parted, a victorious smile creeping unto them. He was carrying a large tin container in his hands, which he placed on the dusty floor.

I could see what was coming. This is how it was supposed to be. Burned to ashes by this vicious scandal in this secluded building. I gave a last, desperate tug at the wire cuffs, but all in vain. With a determined kick, Jungkook knocked the container down, letting the clear liquid overflow out of it and spread throughout the uneven floor. I tingling sensation ran down my spine as the cold liquid soaked through my clothes.

"You should thank me for this", said Jungkook for the first time in all this while, " For letting you have an  experience before actually burning in hell".

Coming towards me, he kneeled close to my face and with a harsh clutch, grabbed a few strands of my hair, and made me look straight into his eyes. For the first time since I started my work as an agent, I felt scared. I felt scared of how dark his eyes were. I felt scared of how helpless my worn out reflection looked in his shining eyes. And I felt scared of death.

He let go of me with a jerk, and since my hands were tied up, I quite lost my balance and crashed against the floor, as the greasy liquid smeared against my face. When I finally managed to scramble back to a sitting position, I realized that my nose was bleeding. But I was to be relieved of this pain soon, as Jungkook had already taken out a lighter from his pocket.

People say that one's brain doesn't always function properly in times of great danger, but all of a sudden, a thought crossed my mind, like a white dove crossing a blue expanse of endless sea, and when the eyes of the sailor would follow it, he would be able to find a coast. When I followed this thought of mine, I reached a conclusion that surprised me. The liquid didn't have a smell!

Out of all the inflammable liquids I know, all have a distinct, strong smell which was lacking in this case. It couldn't be alcohol by any chance, as it would have all evaporated by now.

Is this water?

But all that I knew, Jungkook wasn't the person to play a fool out of himself by sprinkling water to scare me to death. He might have used this strategy to scare me to such an extent that I may blurt out some information he required, but the case wasn't such.

But Jungkook didn't seemed to have noticed this mishap. With a smooth click , he lighted his gold plated lighter and threw it onto the floor, a satisfied smile threatening to make its way to his parted lips. I held my breath, unsure of what was going to happen.

But the lighter extinguished as it touched  the wet floor. Jungkook frowned, visibly distressed at what had happened. He bent down to pick it up, but stopped in his tracks and sat their staring deeply at the floor. I followed his gaze to see what he was looking at only to see a hazy reflection of a figure standing at the balcony entrance, in the waters. Both of us turned our heads at the same time in that direction to see-

"Y/N? " Jungkook called out as he proceeded to embrace her.

She however, to my utmost relief, avoided his hug and looked towards me out of her two beautiful eyes. This time, there wasn't any expression of hatred in them.

"What were you doing Jungkook? ", she asked, concern mingled in her tone. However, whether the concern was for me or Jungkook, I couldn't say yet.

" What are you doing here? How did even know that I'm here? ", he asked avoiding her question.

" I umm followed you", she said looking down and fidgeting with her fingers. "I'm sorry for doing so, but I having this feeling that you might get into trouble for-"
She trailed off looking at my direction again.

"Taking the law in my hands? " asked Jungkook placing both of his hands on her shoulders. "Ok, I won't do so if that's what you want", he said and blew out a sharp whistle that wrung out through the spacious, silent rooms like a whizz of electric shock.

" But you aren't going to witness anything that happens here today", he added, leading her to the balcony and making her stand backfacing the room.

By then, two gun bearers had taken their position at the other entrance. Hearing them enter, Jungkook motioned them to shoot me without even turning back. He also had his back to us, his hand around Y/N so as to prevent her from turning.

The two men however showed no intention of shooting me whatsoever. To my surprise, if only I could have been surprised any further after all that had happened, they advanced slowly towards Jungkook, their AK47 revolvers aimed straight at him!

Not hearing the gunshot he was anticipating for so long, Jungkook turned around, and I knew from the look of his face that he wasn't quite prepared for this.

"Game's over Jungkook", said one of the men and I jumped recognizing the voice of Mr. Namjoon.

Jungkook  however, looked calm. Holding out his hand, he pulled Y/N behind him, who was too mortified to resist. The two men advanced further still, as Jungkook kept backing towards the balcony.

" Don't even try running away that way for if you do, we won't hesitate to run the entire set of bullets over your skull", Namjoon let out a warning, while I kept praying that he would be careful enough to not hurt Y/N.

All of a sudden, there was a crisp clink of metal, and I turned my head to see a small metallic ball being flung into the room from the other entrance. It rolled over quite near to Mr. Namjoon's feet who was still aiming his gun at Jungkook, oblivious of the smoke bomb which lay an inch apart his feet.

"Look out! ", I screamed but before he could even turn his head, the room got filled with smoke, blocking out our views. I couldn't even see the palm of my own hand. But we could well hear Jungkook and Y/N's rapid footsteps shooting out into the balcony, yet Mr. Namjoon didn't dare to shoot lest he would hurt Y/N.

But we weren't prepared for the next sound we heard. It was Y/N. She gave out a muffled scream which was one of surprise and fear, and it was followed by a dull thud.

By then the cloudy layers of smoke had started to thin up a bit, and I saw Mr. Namjoon and the other man dash towards the door as he called out, "Quick Jisung! They  have jumped out of the balcony! ".....
