We are at the Tower with Bruce, Tony has just come back after cleaning himself up "anything on Nat?" Bruce asks and the other man shakes his head, drying his hands on a towel and throwing it on a table "I haven't heard." I sit on the table where Barton is leaning. I can tell he feels guilty for leaving her."But she's alive." He points out after a moment of deliberation "or Ultron would be rubbing our faces in it." Clint steps back and starts to look at the cradle the in the middle of the room. The thing Ultron would literally kill to have "this is sealed tight." He points out. Bruce and Tony come over and I say "we're gonna need to access the program, break it down from within." Bruce gives me a surprised look and I shrug innocently.
Tony looks over at Clint as silence takes over "any chance Natasha might leave you a message from outside the internet?" Clint has his hands on his hips as he paces "there are some nets I can cast." He admits heading for the stairs "yeah, I'll find her." Tony looks over at me "can't you find her with your weird telepathy thing?" I shake my head, folding my hands in front of me "it doesn't work like that, I need to already have a connection to someone, a bridge. I don't have that connection yet." I explain and Tony bites the inside of his cheek.
"I can work on tissue degeneration." Bruce says coming back over from his computer "if you could fry whatever operational system Cho implanted." Tony scratches the top of his head nervously "about that." He says and I clench my fists, this man can't be serious right now. Bruce realises what Tony means and looks almost horrified "no!" He says and Stark steps forward "you have to trust me." Bruce steps back, hands in the air "I kinda don't." He retorts.
They make their way around the table as Tony explains "our ally, the guy protecting the military's nuclear codes, I found him." A bright orange ball appears in the middle of the room and I gasp, hand over my mouth. "Hello Doctor Banner, Noelle Anderson." A British voice says causing Banner to look up. We both look at Tony who continues talking "Ultron didn't go after Jarvis because he was angry. He attacked him because he was scared of what he can do. So Jarvis went underground. Scattered, dumped his memory. But not his protocols. He didn't even know he was in there until I pieced him together."
Bruce looks around, overwhelmed by all of this information "so, you want me to help you put Jarvis into this thing?" He asks placing a steady hand on the cradle. "No!" Tony says dramatically "of course not. I wanna help you put Jarvis in this thing." I scoff and shake my head "Tony, I know you own this building but if you do this I will throw you off of it." I say and he looks at me a little freaked. Probably because he knows I will do it.
He turns back to the doctor "you know bio-organics better than anyone." Bruce shakes his head, placing a hand on his hips "and you just assume that Jarvis's operational matrix can beat Ultron?" This is the first time Tony looks lost and I savour this moment to tease him about once this is all over. He frowns deeply "Jarvis has been beating him from the inside without knowing it. This is the opportunity. We can create Ultron's perfect self without the homicidal glitches he thinks are his winning personality. We have to."
I bite my lip watching as Bruce mulls it over before he eventually throws his hands out in frustration "I'm caught in a time loop." He says "this is exactly where is all went wrong." Tony comes forward placing a hand on his shoulder "I know. I know." He soothes "I know what everyone's gonna say. But they're already saying it. We're mad scientists. We're monsters buddy. We've gotta own it. Make a stand."
Bruce finally caves and they both look at me "if this start going wrong, I will intervene but I can't exactly stop you if this will work." Tony throws me a grateful look but Banner looks like I betrayed him.
Bruce and Tony work away in almost silence, I sit on a desk, feet swinging and my eyes locked onto the cradle in the middle of the room. If I get even a hint that this is going to turn out like Ultron I will destroy it. "This Framwork is not compatible." Tony says after a while, clicking quickly on the keyboard, Bruce looks up "the genetic coding tower is at 97%." He tells us "you have got to upload that schematic in the next three minutes."
There are footsteps and then Steve appears the two inhanced kids behind me clutching each other "I'm only going to say this once," Steve says once he as taken in the scene "how about none-ce?" Stark shoots back and I hold my breath. Steve clenches his jaw tightly "shut it down!" He demands and Tony deadpans "nope, not gonna happen." Steve looks at me for help but I stay silent, I won't step into any of their arguments again. It cost thousands of dollars in repairs the last time I did.
"You don't know what your doing." Rogers insists calmly, Bruce takes his glasses off slowly "and you do?" He asks. I'm surprised that Bruce is speaking up since A. He wasn't totally into the idea to begin with and B. He tended to stay away from conflict because of his little green problem. This seems to throw Steve off too as Bruce says "sure she's not in your head?" He points at the girl standing behind Steve.
She steps forward, her accent think "I know your angry." She says and Bruce laughs, glaring intensely at her "oh we're way past that." He insist. I stand up, making my presences known in the room and my power being felt "I could choke the life out of you and never change a shade." Bruce muses. The girl stays expressionless, having probably heard worse "Banner." Steve rushed to her defender "after everything that's happened....." Tony cuts him off "nothing compared to what's coming!"
Steve scoffs and looks at me "your are seriously letting them do this?" He asks, I flex my fingers feeling my power dance along my knuckles "I have seen places rise and fall Steve, none were saved because they refused to take risks." He doesn't seem happy with my answer, I try to keep one eye on the cradle and one on the two new comers because Steve isn't a threat, he is just angry.
"You don't know what's in there." The girl shouts and I watch as her brother pulls a face and disappears. He is running, I realise, like Makkari and he unplugs all of the wires and stops back where he started. Seeing my friends power displayed in someone else is a little disturbing but I don't say anything about it. "No no." He says his accent as thick as his sisters "go one." I hide my smile behind my hand and he winks at me.
A gun is fired from below, where he is standing on glass. The glass shatters and he falls through the ceiling. His sister calls his name and rushes to look down, on the level below is Clint is standing there calmly putting a foot on his leg so he can't escape. A smile dances on my friends lips "what?" He asks "you didn't see that coming?"
The computer starts beeping then and I let the cosmic energy engulf my hands in flame like appearance "I'm rerouting the upload." Tony says turning back to the screen, without thinking Steve throws his shield making the girl, Bruce and Tony duck. When it lands at me I stop it by catching it "Steve don't." I warn, Tony blasts Steve launching him backwards.
The girl starts creating that red mist when Bruce grabs her from behind "go ahead." He says through gritted teeth "piss me off." I shake my head and tut lowly "children, children."Clint comes rushing up the steps at the same time Steve recovers and launches himself at Tony, they both fall away and I roll my eyes "seriously?" I ask but no one listens.
Thor appears out of no where and lands on the cradle, everyone stops fighting long enough to see Thor summon lightning through his hammer and launch it at the cradle. We all stand in shock before the cradle bursts open causing all of us to fly away from it. I smash into a glass wall and down to the living area.
Groaning I sit up and wipe the glass off of my face, I'm bleeding somewhere on my head and I have a massive gush coming from my arm. "Shit." I hiss standing up and wiping the rest of the glass off of me. That has really pissed me off so instead of going back up to join the others I decide to shrug it off and go and find a first aid kit. I suddenly wish Ajax was here to heal me quickly because this hurts like hell.
